Question F.A.S.T. Key Issues??

Okay, so I just got the car tonite and haven't really had any time to look over the manual. So if this is a stupid question, I'm going to apologize in advance lol. Anyways, the FAST key works just fine when unlocking the doors, but more than a few times already when I've been showing off the keyless ignition() it seems like it isn't recognizing my key?? The ignition just stays locked and won't turn, so I've tried getting out, locking it and starting over again but this doesn't even work most of the time. Then somehow i'll be messing with the steering wheel and bam, all of a sudden the ignition will turn with no problem and its all good...am I missing something here? A little trick? An important step? What? Help!

Its the steering wheel lock. After you turn of your ignition, if you move the steering wheel, it engages a lock. Another one of those anti-theft devices. Anyways, the only way to disengage the lock is to turn the ignition and fidget with the steering wheel. The steering wheel will come loose and bam your engine starts.

Yeah I think I was trying to turn it all quick like it's a regular keyed ignition. It seems like you have to kinda wiggle the steering wheel and gently turn the ignition at the same time. I guess I'l get used to it soon enough, thanks for the help though.

You don't need to be gentle and wiggle the steering wheel. I always just fall into the seat, hit the clutch and turn it over like any other car. If you hold onto the steering wheel when u get into (or out of) ur car, its probably what is engaging the steering lock.

I thought I was crazy for thinking that I needed to wiggle the steering wheel when the fast key doesn't work but it looks like I was accurate. Seems like i learn something new everyday I come on the forums

Yeah haven't had any more troubles with it since that first night. I thought I had gotten a defective key or something at first!
