Tail lights/Brake lights
Tail lights/Brake lights
Hey all! Got a bit of a problem with my 03 Lancer ES. I've done just about all the troubleshooting I can do, and now I'm at a standstill.
First off, I do have after market tail lights so I have two bulbs for each tail light.
The other day someone brought it to my attention that my brake light was out. Which I thought was weird because I was not pushing on the brake, but I thanked them and told myself to check it at home. After getting home, I found out that not only was my brake light out, so was my tail light.
So, I had no tail light but a brake light on my passenger side and no brake light but a tail light on my driver side. Well, I gave it a day and now both brake lights work, but I'm still without a tail light.
I've tested all of the fuses, pulled all the fuses, checked all the bulbs, even switched the bulbs, and everything is okay. I honestly do not know what else I can do. If there is no other reasoning, would there be any problem splitting the brake light and tail light wires from the driver side and splicing them into the passenger side wires. Since I do my of my driving at night, a tail light is at least a necessity. I'd like to think there is something easier to fix it, but whatever it takes.
Also, I NEED a repair manual. I have owned one with every vehicle and I can't seem to find one for this. With Haynes, they only offer them for the eclipse and galant. Do I use one of those?
