Funny. I discovered my car doesn't do that, (12 RA) so I didn't bother with the manual...

Doing that probably changes the amount of time the defroster stays on. From the factory they are set to automatically turn themselves off at 20 minutes. Doing that could possibly either make it have to be turned off manually or lower the time it takes to cut off, or increase it, who knows?
