Hey all,
Maybe it's common for the fob for lancers going from 08' and up to have the plastic part that holds onto your keychain break, and that's what happened to me. Now I am loosely carrying my key in my pocket while not being attached to my set of keys.

A whole new key is like $100, and a case replacement like this one is like $10:

Could I buy this one, and take the casing off of it and put it in my current key?, just by replacing the guts?. Has anyone done this?. I hope it's possible, so I can save some $$$. Thanks in advance for any tips.
