2003 Lancer Radiator Issue
I need some help.
Friday evening my wife went out and the car started to overheat when she was getting home. When i checked the radiator itself, it was empty and the overfill bottle was empty was well. i went and bought some OEM radiator fluid from Canadian Tire and filled up both the radiator and overfill bottle and drove the car on Sunday. I drove it for 10 minutes and noticed that the radiator was dripping but the the overfill was still full.
I drove the car again today and noticed the same thing and noticed fluid at the top of the radiator and the bottom of the car but the overfill bottle is still full and i noticed the fans were not coming on.
I went and bought some more radiator fluid and filled up the radiator and changed the radiator cap but the car did not overheat but there was fluid once again at the top of the radiator but the fans were on and then turned off and the overfill bottle is still full from Sunday.
Would this be a sign that the thermostat is stuck closed or is this a much more serious issue?

Could be a number of things, but most likely thermostat. Start with that first (easy and cheap). Replace it, bleed the system. Go from there. Let us know what you find.

Honestly I highly doubt the radiator is clogged. In the past 8 years, I've run across only one so far. Obviously it is possible though. Most of the time it's the thermostat or air trapped in the system.
