Hi all . Very new to these cars but not cars in general. I'm fairly mechanically inclined - so I'm not afraid to dig in and figure things out. However I'm hoping you all can provide some insight and advice. I'm looking at buying a 2007 Lancer but it has some issues. When I went to test drive the car the SRS light stays on, the windshield wiper pump does not operate, and the air conditioner does not cool . A friend of mine is Neighbors to the owner and she told me that the car had a blowout and that somehow damaged part of the wiring harness. They looked at buying it but apparently this particular part or wiring harness is extremely difficult to find. I found another post on here about a blowout damaging the harness but there was no resolution. I'm torn because it seems like the car might be a good deal but I really don't want something that's not repairable. $2200 w 94k miles . I don't want to spend another $1000 chasing electrical issues.
Thoughts thoughts and ideas? Is this harness issue really that big of a problem for these cars? Really that difficult to find parts?
