help with fuse 8 constantly blowing

I recently bought a 2002 lancer oz rally edition. I am the third owner and according to the second owner the first had done some verry sketchy wiring on the interior in order to add led and aftermarket speaker system witch he cleaned up witch looks good now but about a week ago i blew fuse no 8 while driving and I initially thought that it was the fuel pump so i replaced that but eventually found that fuse and replaced it and thought nothing of it since for about a week it was fine but it blew another one while driving and now it is intermittently blowing them for apparently no reason with the car sitting in one place like I will turn on the ignition see that it isn't blown but I forgot my scanner inside so take my keys out go get it come back and blow the fuse I have inspected the wiring harness and I cant see anywhere that I can get to without removing to much stuff then I tried unplugging sensors that I have read that it is responsible for maf, crank, upstream o2, fuel pump, fuel level sensor and it will not make a difference so i went down the route of following the codes and I had a p0134 currently active and a p0135 pending witch are both related to the upstream o2 sensor so I replaced it but every time that fuse 8 blows it resets the codes now all I have are pending codes for p0183 and p0403 but to inspect some of the wiring I removed the battery just to get some more room but now their is a short between the positive and negative battery terminals is that normal or is their some problems I haven't put the battery back in it since I noticed that short what should I try next
