possible ECU problem...people who know about ECU's HELP!
Ok here is the thing....i've posted other times about my engine bogging out and i thought it may have been something internally with the motor. the strange thing is is that the problem comes and goes.
the problem is is that sometimes my car will lose all power..then it comes back...then it loses it again. if i give it like 5-10% throttle it goes up the RMP range nice and smooth...but if i give it more then that it jus bogs out then kicks back on then bogs out...and so on. i always thought it may be a crack piston or something major...then i thought it could be something with my ignition (because sudden loss of power could be that there is no spark), or because it seems like everytimes it rained this would happen...so i though it was my MAS getting wet...but i don't know. ---------ECU QUESTION-------- Today i noticed in my garage when my car was idleing that the RPM's went up to about 1650. i was like hmm thats odd...then i looked at the karman frequency and it was 3Hz...normally at idle (700 rpm) the karman frequency is like 24-28Hz. and it goes up a lot when you open the throttle. QUESTION: Is there like an ECU engine protection program or something that senses too many check engine codes (because of the turbo and possibly burnt O2 sensors) and would cause the karman frequency to go to 3Hz and make the idle go up to 1600 rpms. Also can too many check engine codes make the car bog out like my problem but happen every now and then??? ALSO when the car went to 3Hz and 1600 rpm it didn't bog out anymore.... any ideas?????? |
sorry z im gonna post questin kinda like that one here 2 but could having rrm headers stock downpipe test pipe and greddy cat back burn my 2 sensors cuse went 2 dealer and they want $250 a sensor if those are bad and realize i had exaust on my car.... also i thought ilp cel fix was spose 2 remove the cel cuse mine came back on after 40miles....and no response from ilp yet...

Last I heard ILP was shipped a batch of bad resistors. :( They had to put the mil eliminators on hold.
Jeff had something like 3,000 that weren't doing a fraction of the resisting that they should have been. :p ... :crap: Now that that's more or less answered...please let Andy have his thread back cuz that really wasn't related at all. If you need more info from ILP I'd suggest giving them a call. Jeff's seriously understaffed at the moment, but he, Rocky or Justin are much more likely to give you a quick answer on the phone than on the forums. Gonna put this in troubleshooting btw since it's troubleshooting. |
The problem sounds like a faulty throttle position sensor. I would think the car is too new for the tps to actually be bad (though stranger things have been known to happen) so check the wires for a loose connection.

I was gonna agree, but the burnt o2 sensor will screw w. your car too. get one from the mitsu recycling yard..they are like 50 bucks
