Help.......

HELP..
After replacing my lancer rims (From 14 to 17") & installing a custom kit, I lost my car performance.. I installed K&N air intake system & replaced my exhaust system.. It improved.. but the top speed reduced from 210km/h to 150km/h...!!
So please tell me how can I get back my top speed??!!
:dunno:

if you want your speed back take out your rims because the rims slows you down big time. :mitsu: test the lancer cedia with the 14" rims not the 17" rims. and one more thing, say you are going 70 on the freeway you are realy going slower then that. the bigger the rims the more time it need to spin and the harder your motor need to work too

Is there is any other way to improve it, because I like to keep the 17" rims..
:dunno:

if you have money get turbo or superchager or go all out motor power really having big rims kill your performce

for me i'm a road racer and rims is a big problem. if i get rims i would get one size bigger the the oem like 16" to a 17" that wouldn't kill the proformce very much

OK..
Is there is other way than adding super charger or turbo...
And if keep it as it is, will it effect my gear or engine...??
:crap:

SC and turbo is no problem but if you go all out motor power that will kind of wake up your motor timing. if you don't want to add these parts to your car deen just don't but bigger rims make's your engine work hard thats all

check_valve Jun 1, 2002 07:40 AM

I mean, If I didn't add any SC or turbo & keep my 17" rims..
do you think this heavy weight will effect my gear or engine in the future??

4G63_Attack Jun 1, 2002 07:44 AM

NO, the things, the rims just makes your engine work hard thats it nothing more and nothing less. think of this way if you row a two ball down a hill one big and one small the small one would get down the hill first and the big one second.

In your case I wouldn't go to a rim diameter greater than 15". Those 17's are taking away a lot of HP. You can find wider rims for better handling. Going from 14 to 17 is just way too much. Of course, it also messes your speedo and odometer too.
