AC isnt blowing cold air.
2002 Mitsubishi Lancer...
AC isn't shooting out cold air. Fan works and all and so does the heater but no cold air =( Could it be my ac compressor clutch? Any ideas? |
There could be lots of reasons it's not blowing cold. It could be the compressor it might seem silly but is the belt hooked up to the compressor. I'd start by seeing if it's just undercharge And if it is have the system recovered and vacuumed for 30 min and see if it stays in a vacuum if it doesn't you probable have a leak somewhere. It is highly illegal to vent refrigerant to the air. If you don't know anything about how the a/c system works your best bet and safest is take it somewhere that deals with them and have them look at it.

Yeah that might be my best bet. It was working fine before I replaced my timing belt :( I'll double check it all. If not, I'll take it to an ac specialist.

Sure you didnt just forget to reconnect the compressor signal wire? You have to disconnect it to pull the upper timing cover and its easily forgotten to reattach. Do you hear your compressor's magnetic clutch click when you turn on the a/c?
