2004 OZ-Rally alternator problem
 

Hey, guys im having abit of trouble with my car and maybe one of you guys can help ive recently bought a new alternator like 2 weeks ago and now today it doesn't seem to like to hold its charge or to charge the battery this is the second brand-new alternator ive bought... Im not sure what to do.. on these cars is the a voltage regulator that connects to the alternator somewheres? at first they will work for a week or 2 then all of a sudden it'll stop..... well it'd be nice if someone could help me... thanks guys

Make sure your charge lead is properly secured and that the connector from the wiring harness is also fully secured. Check any grounds that may be loose or that have been changed. Remember that for the best ground possible, the connection should be bare metal to bare metal. If you have an aftermarket stereo, be sure that the remote connection to your amplifier is connected to the proper wire in your receiver's wiring harness. You could also have your battery tested to see if that's the problem. I had the same issue with my new alternator and it ended up being a ground.
