Gas door won't open
 

We bought my son a 2009 Lancer ES Sport. The gas tank will not open. There's nothing wrong with the latch or cable, as that works like it is supposed to. I have read this is a common problem on the Lancer and something about a broken or missing clip. But that part is not listed for a 2009-up. So what is the fix for these models?

CORRECT, you need the spring clip on the left.

Yes, it is the same clip, It is placed in a different place on older Lancers, but they all use same spring clip. Your local Mitsu dealer should have it in stock.
