That car is sick I almost got one before my evo and let me tell you my cousin has a red one around my area and it hauls ***! With minor mods he is traping speeds at about 109-110mph with an et of 12.7-12.9 traction issues. After I pay off my evo an srt might be the next fun ride to add to the collection!
Good review!

And many above that price level too... They are very fast cars on the run and the *warrantied* staged upgrades boost power quickly. Stock Evo drivers ignore this at your own embarassment That said, the Evo's a much better car, but for $10K more, it had better be

o.k., this needs to go on the srt forum, how about an article on the history of the evolution, from I-VIII?
Funny thing is, this is a sticky on srtforums.

*warrantied*
more like "warrantied" most dealers won't work on Stage 2 and up, some won't work on Stage 1 because of the flash. Technically you can get your warranties voided for those. Only guarantee I would give you is that a Mopar "BOV" (aka, "The noise maker," "Mopar rice-toy") and Borla exhaust wouldn't void it or make dealers deny working on your car.

What kind of minor mods? A new turbo perhaps? SRT-4s run 13.9-14.2s stock, depending on 60-foot time.

The Lancer Evolution's predecessor was the Lancer turbo.

The SRT is a formidable foe. The new ones can break rubber in the first three gears with my fat a** at the wheel and apart from some distinct understeer it is a nice ride. I drove one and as much crap I talk about my EVO I would hate to meet one at 80+ MPH on the highway cause then it would be a VERY interesting matchup. All of the drivability issues of the SRT go away once it is at speed. Don't get me wrong. I love my car, but I refuse to hate on another just because it is made by Dodge. Respect where it is due.

Can the new SRT-4's pull on my MR in top end? I looked at the car and drove one before getting my MR but didn't take it much above 60mph. I will be pissed if I get my rear handed to me from a car I could of bought for $14,000 less!!! Then again my car's graphite and just looks mean while the SRT-4 just looks like a neon. I do like the guages alot though.

according to the numbers gathered for both cars from the SCC website the SRT-4 is faster from a roll but only by like a tenth of a second. Overall the EVO is faster but I think on the top end the SRT-4 may have an advantage with the bigger motor, lighter weight, and huge amounts of stock torque.

Shame they didn't make the styling better. They should offer it in a regular Neon package. Make it look like a rental car and I would have bought one in a heartbeat.

If I wasn't selling mine the next thing I was planning to do was remove the basket handle spoiler. It's a more low key look, but yeah...that front fascia still screams street racer to some people. I hear you.

Sleep easy my friend...you own a more blanced car. After about 80mph or so the SRT-4 will start pulling away. There's no shame in that though. The Evo and STi were geared for quick low-end sprints...not high speed runs. Anyways...who keeps their Evo/STi/SRT-4 stock anyways.

Looks good lowj. I'd forgot how high the SRT-4 sits from the factory until I saw that shot. I'm selling it and getting an Evo...of course.
