my girl wanted one but wouldnt let us test one.

the new mercedes slk 350 is on the same chassis.

the car is assembled in germany which is neat, and the quality is great. seats were a little firm. i would say for a bit more go for the mercedes

well, they are $50k and only come with an automatic transmission......I'll pass. In that price range I'll be looking at M3', S4's, and Boxster S's thank you

Im pretty sure the Crossfire is built on the old SLK chassis, which sucked.

clarkson summed up the car very well on a recent episode of Top Gear with something like "2500 parts all made by the lowest bidder".

Ive driven it quite a bit. Its a decent car. Quite firm riding, and very small. Exact same thing as the SLK 32 (older model).

I guess you can look at the car 2 ways...AMG at 30% off...

...or below corvette performace for the same price.

how are they so slow? 13.2@107 in the 1/4 doesnt seem to shabby to me. .92g's on the skid pad isnt to bad either. i dont think 42000 is a bad price.

They're ok but I would never buy one if I had $50k. They are too firm to be a comfortable touring car and too automatic (transmission) to be a true sports car. It needs to choose a side...sport car or touring car.

i like the ride. its not teeth shattering harsh and its comfy for a daily commute. also the manumatic isnt as bad either. you can still up shift and down**** as normal without havin to use a clutch. no misshifts and you always have you foot on the gas. i wouldnt have paid 50 for it either, so i got it cheaper. thanks for the replies guys.

I think it is a very good car especially if you live in a temperate climate. You should check out
Renntech. The engine is the same as C32 AMG and all of the performance parts are interchangeable.

Enjoy the car.

I have driven the car...its really not bad of a car at all, pretty fast for sure. paying that much money though just seems a bit much, although the engine is really sweet with the supercharger and all. it says amg on the supercharger itself. i had fun driving it, the interior was pretty nice as well.

hey smitty thanks for the link. ive actually looked at them before. the one bad thing about buying this car is thats its gonna cost so much damn money to make it faster. i mean look at those freakin prices. hopefully i can find someone close by that can mess with the computer or somethin to fine tune it and get some extra power.
