Yep I agree, the evo is gorgeous in comparison to the STI, there's no denying it, and yet, I'm still gonna get a STI. I guess for a couple of reasons.

I was able to find a dealer willing to take an order at MSRP straight away. I lost count of the number of dealers I went to who wouldn't accept MSRP.

Subaru seems to have a much better record when it comes to overall reliability of their vehicles, and my WRX has caused me no problems whatsoever so I guess customer loyalty counts for something in my case..

I also must admit to feeling a little let down with the specs of the USDM evo, being a big evo fan from way back. I'm originally from NZ, where we see JDM spec evo's and STIs so I guess I was hoping for a little more, which is also why I was pretty impressed with the STI specs..

I plan to do away with the wing or perhaps downsize it, and replace that hood scoop before a pigeon flies into it and damages my IC. I think with a bit of plastic surgery we can get a half decent looking STI..

 

 

awesome, people like you is the reason we will get ACD, LSD in the near future. Once it hit 's (pocket/image) which was intended, they will try not to loose any more customers.

I was on this forum since day 2 and after hearing what was stripping and what Subaru was offering, I was so furious that I almost made the switch. It was only reputation on building a better handling car that stopped me. Another reson was that I want to track test the version with mechinical diffs and then try it active stuff so i can conclude if it's a Gimmic or Superiour setups

I agree the evo does have better looks, yet the interior of the STi is superior to that of the evolution. If only had done a better job on the interior then the evo would have been all around the top.

 

Listen everyone- Everyone is saying the wing on the STi is hideous, have you looked at the EVO wing, I have to say that besides the carbon fiber they are nearly the same!! Yes the hood scoop is huge, you don't like it, buy an evo its a free country.

Also someone mentioned Subaru should have put a FMIC and hood vents? Have you seen any previous STI's? Everyone in the forum would be pissed off because subaru copied and made a WRX EVO. I think *****ing about their looks is a waste of time, everyone has a different opinion. Buy whichever floats your boat.

WTF...WRONG...haven't you seen the USDM STi interior? It is nothing like the JDM spec and the USDM Evo interior is superior than the USDM STi....

The EVO looks nice....but the STi means business.

Its ugly but its do'able. Plus its whats inside that counts, 300/300 6-speed STOCK!!! Oh yeah even if the rims is ugly, its still BBS.

I haven't seen the STi's interior. but the EVO's interior,to me, looks cheap. C'mon at least take the LANCER out of the gauge and put EVOLUTION.

If the STi wont be redicolously(sp?) priced, id get it. Otherwise for me, i hope the EVO's price drops when the STi comes out.

Both cars are not great lookers. For $30K you can buy really beautifull cars if it's what you care about. So wait for the STi test and then start trashing. I know I am waiting impatiently.

 

yea.. what the hell was the driver thinking?! how the hell did he get those frontal pics, while MOVING, if he was the only one driving in the car?! i just noticed it now too.. but propz for whatever the hell he did.. taking pictures AND recording video AT THE SAME TIME?!?
