STi spy pics and video
I love this thread. This is one of the most fun and funny things I've read in a while. If I had enoung money I'd have one of each color Evo and Sti in my garage. Hell, I might even add one of each color SRT4 for days when I wanted to be different.
I really don't care if a car is ugly or not, if it's fast and handles well I love it.

Is it just me, or has this become the new "mustang vs. f-body" type battle??
I think what I failed to realize when I originally replied was that most of these posts are by pimple faced, immature, <16y.o. kids or adults that act in a similar fashion. I get the feeling that most of these kids (or adults with childlike mentalities) won't even be able to get their hands on an evo or sti, unless mommy and daddy buy it for them.
The evo has a lot of potential to be a very quick car. LIKEWISE, the STi will be easily moddable as well. Official numbers (performance/handling and price) have yet to be released for the STi, yet some of you are judging that the STi sucks, just because you don't agree with the looks....where's the logic in that? Get a freakin' audi if you want looks!
BOTH cars look ricey IMHO. Add stickers and viola, you've got tfatf!! But looks aren't that big of a concern to me. (although I'm having a hard time getting over the altezza's on the evo and the huge *** book shelf wing on the sti) One of the BIGGEST reasons I'm choosing the STi over the evo is reliability. I've owned a few mitsu's in my life and all have had more than their fair share of reliability issues. I doubt that will ever change. Subaru isn't a toyota or honda, but they're fair more reliable than mitsu. Another huge reason is that the STi is simply going to be a better performer. Handling has always been debatable b/w the evo and sti (ex: evo7 vs. sti v.7), but performance wise, I have no doubt that the sti will produce huge numbers with little mods. YES, I know, I know, 4g63 this, 4g63 that...blah blah blah. But based on the history of engines built by sti, it should be equally strong and able to handle big figures.
Simply put, it seems that some of you are just AFRAID of the sti. It's human nature to be very defensive in this type of situation, but why not wait until the sti comes out and we have solid information on performance/handling, modability (word?), etc... before we start this whole war on evo vs. sti
I know there are some respectable evo owners out there...although judging by the majority of the posts I've seen on here...

I'd have to say both forums have people ... " bagging" on each others cars. I read both forums(nasioc and evolutionm) . And i have neither car.
Both are extroidanary cars. Both have their own unique look.
Awesome cars.. good prices (except the dealer markups)
Consumers win this battle.
Some of you (both forums) People are starting to sound like Mustang vs Camaro.
Just be happy we finally have some wrc type cars
WRC Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pricing is pretty wild... (estimated)
25k - WRX
30k - EVO8 (granted you get it at MSRP)
35k - STi
55k - M3 (hehe .. had to throw that in there)
(now i just gotta figure out what i can afford)

geeeeez
so those are the EVO Eaters....they look pretty bad ***. i don't know whos gonna be able to hang with that car when it comes out. given the high end cars like porsche and ferrarri but i'm talking like regular sports cars. the evo will get eaten up by this car. if the numbers they have for the STi are real.
The STi's were at the Mitsu Commercial shoot. While they were making us "ooh and aah" over the Evo 8 over at the drift course the STis were making their way out of "base camp" and onto the streets for the test drive. Also, at about 9pm as we were leaving the speedway, I went to go pick up my compensation @ the desk. After I picked up the money and signed the forms, I was heading back to my car and an STi pulls up to me. I flagged the guy down and asked to take a look @ the car, he didnt mind. I looked at everything from the interior to the engine bay to the trunk of the car. It's a very nice car IMO, and so is the Evolution 8. So please stop bickering back and forth like little children argueing (sp?) whose "toy" is better.
I am not siding with either car simply because they are both amazing machines. I cant afford to buy either of them, thus is why I drive the econobox (Lancer). The Evolution 8 has amazing handling and driveability on winding roads... but the STi has more power to outrun the Evo 8 on the straights. In terms of looks, they both are pretty nice. The Evolution 8 and the corporate diamond grill grows on me every time i see it. The scoop and the spoiler of the STi grows on me every time i see it as well.
Let's just all get along.

since we're all joking around now, cant we just call it truce? the evo has its upsides as well as its downsides AND so does the sti. we can never get to the point on deciding which one looks better bcoz we certainly have our own personal taste. but once the sti comes, THEN that will be the time to compare numbers and bicker about which one is faster and whatnot. but as for now, its all hearsay and we really dont know which one performs better. so for all the wrx, sti, and evo lovers out there just be happy that those cars are FINALLY here in the US.. thats all that matters. all u gotta know is that once u drive with an evo or a sti on the road, all the street respect and credentials go to you.. coz i sure as hell am smart enough to KNOW not to mess with neither of these cars.
the street got love for y'all.. sti / evo = great, powerful, turbocharged machines..

Based on the lastest posts that I saw, this thread is heading to the OT direction more its original intention...
I don't want to close this down, given the pics that Coolguy posted and I want others to see them. However, if this continues to go downhill, I will be forced to axe it...

How you think, that the 23k WRX is the competition for the 32k plus EVO, is beyond me.
I think the evo looks moderately good in only 2 colors, black and silver. but thats just my opinion, and the rear looks like *** nomatter what. But just because I have an opinion also, doesnt mean anyone else's is wrong. But what you ARE wrong about was your above statement that I quoted...
