So laugh it up and enjoy your econobox lancer, and Ill enjoy my 150TQ Honda and that will be that.

i guess the evo is an econobox that the s2000 will never be able to keep up with.
first lets talk about how overpriced the s2000 is for what your getting, then lets talk about a BALANCED car. Comon, this started as s2000 vs. sky, don't turn this into a stupid fight. the s2000 is in a completely different class than the evo. not to mention the evo is one of the most balanced cars ever made.

If you want a slow roadster thats good at parking lot speed cone courses, the miata and S2000 are a wonderful set of cars. If you feel that autocross is one of the weakest forms of racing, or if you want any little bit of torque or speed, however, the Sky Redline/Soltice GXP will flat out own them.

Can't? It's not. It's a front heavy (60:40) car that is understeer biased from the factory, and needs a fair amount of suspension work to be balanced. Using the throttle to correct understeer is not the same as being balanced.

The '91 NSX was an incredible car and a true value as a supercar. For $62,000 you got an aluminum supercar that was competitive with the 911 ($95k for the turbo), F348 ($117k), and faster than anything domestic. It was also reliable, comfortable for extended trips, and stood out from the crowd, even looking better than the Ferrari.
By '97, when the 290HP 3.2L came out, the NSX had ballooned to $88,000 (for much the same car), the F355 (at $125k) had 375 HP and better looks, while the 911 had caught up in terms of speed, power, and looks without going up in price. Granted, the NSX still had reliability and everyday usability on its side (looks at that point are arguable - personally I find the F355 to be one of the best looking cars of the era). Also, the Viper was available in coupe form, and the C5 Corvette was released, providing domestic alternatives for that level of performance.
A similar trend is happening to the S2000, though not to the same degree. Is this a good thing? I don't really think so.

As for the S2000 being a chick car... I can say with fair certainty that it is not. Of the thousands of S2000 owners I've met, maybe 1 in 5 was a woman - and many of them were very good drivers. If you want the chick cars in this group, it's the base model Boxster and Z4 with a slushbox. 90% woman driven.

I love how everybody is slamming this car before it's even released. I agree Saturns have been boring and lacking from the beginning. However, Hondas don't exactly excite me either. I personally think they're boring looking. I compare Hondas to "a girl with a good personality"; not much to look at, but you can count on her. Take that for what it is. Anyway, why don't you wait and see how the car is before dismissing it.
