Why would he need titanium lug nuts anyways? I can see doing it if you raced at the competitive level, but on a street driven car rolling on motegis?

I have been talking to them about those lugs and their Ti exhaust that are coming out for the evo, but I agree $500 for lugs is super expensive.

Thats some serious weight savings, just think about how much lug nuts weigh.
Damn, forget wheel locks, you need lug nut locks!

My Rays Duralumin lug nuts are light enough for everyday use. There's no way you can justify spending $500+ on lug nuts for a street driven car.

Would it shatter illusions if I say that Titanium is actually denser than Al-alloy?
Assuming the nuts are the same shape and size, Ti will be heavier.

Ti is something like 4,850kg/m^3 and Al is around 2,740kg/m^3. So, the Ti will be 77% heavier.

I suppose that's good value for your money cos you get more weight...

What you really want would be Beryllium S-200. Density 1,844kg/m^3. Same yield strength as Gr.2 titanium.

Would lug nuts made from beryllium cost $550? Otherwise I don't want them because I want to be a "balla." Oh, and it better come in a purple color.

Probably a bit more... kindda hard to handle:

HIGHLIGHTS: People working or living near beryllium industries have the greatest potential for exposure to beryllium. Lung damage has been observed in people exposed to high levels of beryllium in the air. About 1-15% of all people occupationally-exposed to beryllium in air become sensitive to beryllium and may develop chronic beryllium disease (CBD), an irreversible and sometimes fatal scarring of the lungs. CBD may be completely asymptomatic or begin with coughing, chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, and/or fatigue. Beryllium has been found in at least 535 of the 1,613 National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Now if anyone wants to pay for the material, let me know if you need it machining...

I want lug nuts made out of diamonds. Accept no less. Why diamonds? As Dave Chapelle says, because Diamonds are the most ballin' $hit ever.

+1 on that....like a freakin' Lambo or somethin'....

$600 for lugnuts is insane. Buying $600 lugnuts for a Honda/Acura is like buying a Rosie O'Donnell a 2-piece.
