2008 Viper 600hp
Whoever the retard is that listed one of his reasons for not liking the viper because it is American made should be severely beaten. What kind of decent American makes a comment like that?
are you serious? and you dont think alot of Evo owners think there gods? its the same with all the cars including the Evo, the driver makes the car most of the time. Even in the twisties if sombody who cant drive an evo could get owned my a viper. dont act like the evo is god, and that its the only car that can be driven anybody.
Import kool-aid!!! Hahahaha (good one) . . . Bring a Viper vs Ferrari at a Christie's auction block . . . . see who goes for the higher value.
#2: ask any salesmen at a dealership, which used car will have higher windfall into their monthly sales pocket.
#3: what about the classic Vector before th Malaysians bought out the owner in the 90's? Does it have a demand in the market too?
Servicing any vehicle as suggested by the manufacturer is always a good idea. As we look at resale values with an idea of disposing of our 550, it is becoming clear that not only is servicing a good idea, but the proper documentation of the work performed is crucial. Not surprisingly, when buyers consider the purchase of a used Ferrari, they are looking for evidence that the vehicle has been well looked after.
With this in mind, we placed a call to Ferrari Beverly Hills, made an appointment and dropped the car off at the allotted time. As the car was close to reaching the 5,000-mile milestone, we asked that the 5,000-mile service be completed.
As we have noted, Ferraris are rarely an owner's primary transportation. As such, same day service is not expected, nor offered. Still, our routine work was completed in only a couple of days.
The complete work performed was as follows:
Change oil filter (2)
Change oil (12 quarts)
Change gearbox fluid (8 quarts)
Change air filter (2)
Top off antifreeze
Top off power steering fluid
Grand total (includes parts and labor): $1,459.08
As usual, servicing a Ferrari — even when it is routine servicing — is not for the financial faint of heart. We are also finding that news from the marketplace regarding how Ferraris are retaining their value is not good.

Look like they're trying to head off the rumored Corvette Bluedevil (S/C'd Z06 with 600hp) and beat it to market. Neither car will be kind towards the foolhardy, or those who think they're "gods" *L*, but in capable hands there'll be few cars that'll even come close to touching either one - and no, the EVO isn't of them.
Dissing the car because it is American made sounds pretty stupid. Most japanese cars probably are more forgiving on the road but there aren't too man japanese cars producing 600 hp and 560 ft-lbs of torque in stock form. That is a lot of power to be put through 2 street tires.

no doubt that new viper will be a bad *** car, but i think id still save 15-20K and get a c6 zo6. those things have been putting down mid 11s bone stock and i think i read of one with only rear slicks hitting 10.98 or something. new motor treand has the price as tested of the viper in the high 80s if i remember correctly.

Noty even in the same class or type. Let's not set unrealistic expectations for our cars. Let's duke it out with STi, Mazdaspeed6, etc
This is just my opinion of course.
