Raced a skyline R33

As it says in my signiture I'm selling my 95 RX7. It's a fully built 10sec car that had been a blast. I've been trying to sell it for about a month or so. I got a call on friday from a guy up north telling me he was going to fly down that day and buy my RX7. The guy get's here, we go get the car and we go for a test drive. I'm low on gas so I tell him to go to the gas station. He says he just wants to kick it around the block and bring it back so there's no reason. Well as we drive down the street a black skyline passes us and whips a u-turn to catch us. I tell him we better just turn back. The skyline races up beside us and the guy hits it. I tell him to back off since we are low on gas but he doesn't listen. Instead he hits it and races the skyline. We get to third and we've got the guy by about 3 car lengths so I tell him to let off now. He doesn't listen and shifts to fourth and then all of a sudden the RX7 looses power and dies at about 120mph. He pulls over and starts to studder. I don't know what happened he says. I got out tryed to start it and no go. I finally get it started and limped the car to Intense Motorsports. My front Apex seal is blown and now the guy doens't "want" the car. I told him he broke it he bought it but I have no legal leg to stand on. So he left and now I have a $5000 repair bill on my hands. I am very angry still. That was the worst day of my life. The engine was already fully build and only had 2000 miles on it. So now not only did I not sell the car but I have to spend $5000 to get it fixed just so I can sell it for the same price. Some people are just losers.

Take him to court. No question. I hope everything works out for you. Good people with good cars shouldn't have **** like that happen to them.

I talked to our family lawyer and since I gave him consent to drive the RX7 there is pretty much nothing I can do. I just learned a very expensive lesson. Once it's fixed no more test drives. Only I drive it. Another thing I left out is that this is the RX7 that was featured in a five page layout in October 2002 issue of Sport Compact Car Magazine, it's not just some run of the mill RX7.

Sorry to hear that, but that seems pretty normal for a 7. 7's are real popular here in japan because they are so easy to work on and it doesn't cost much to rebuild them after they break and they do break. Everyone I know with one has at least 2 extra engines ready to go at any time. $5,000 seems like an awful lot to fix a seal??? Most guys here barely spend a grand to completely redo their engine. Nun the less the guy should be kicked in the nuts!!!!!

So your lawyer friend says that even though you told him not to race and told him repetitively to stop while he was racing in your car, without your consent, and illegally, as I'm guessing you didn't hit 120MPH on a track, it's your fault?

I don't know that your family lawyer is all that good. Even if you'd allowed him to do it, you have no legal authority to allow him to race a Skyline to 120MPH. What he did was definitely illegal and ended up being destructive to your personal property. That's all you've got to prove.
