EVOX and BMW 135i are both cars I am considering and price will be very close hence the reason for the comparison. Both car will appeal to car enthusiasts. I want a fast car that is more compact in 36K range with turbo. That leaves me with three cars 08 STI, EVOX and BMW 135i.

That would not happend at all. The way BMW is building cars now days is a matter of weight reduction vs everything else, let me elaborate:

Huge (almost) 14" rotors
at least 6 airbags
directional headlights
bigger rims and tires
4 cats, dual mufflers
ran flat tires with sensors
13 speaker stereo with amp in the back

my point is you can add up little $hit like that and you will realize why a BMW weights what it weights. There is really no way around. While a Evo uses one cat, the BMW uses 4, while a Evo has 2 airbags, the BMW has 6 and the list goes on and on.

If BMW were to launch a 3100lbs, they will mark it up another $3000-$5000, they had done it on the M3, I think it was the ACL or ACS version (I believe.

I think I am leaning towards BMW i135 since as I get older I want a little more luxury and comfort.
Snoop,

From what I can tell you and based on my reading experience, the 1 series plattform is already a success overseas, the 135i is not available yet but we do know how well the engine, transmision and brakes performs on the 335i, top notch.

The 335i put the automotive standards very very high in all departments, the pure enthusiast knows very well why they are waiting for the 135i, because given the same engine, the 135i should top the 335i even more and for about $5000 less than a 335i the 135i would be the undisputable car to have.

As far is the Evo X, I only know what everyone knows and this is nothing but gossip and speculations. As much as I want to believe that the Evo X is a true amaizing car I still have not a single digit of information(dyno, 0-60, 1/4 mile, torque, real weight).

Everything is nothing but gossip about the Evo X so that is why I highly recommend that you actually wait for boths cars to be release and take your time to test drive boths. That is what I am doing, Evo9gril wants another Evo or a BMW 135i.

Oh yeah, I knew I forgot something else to mention, here are 3 more important factors that makes the BMW 135i take the lead in some areas:

Insurance
gas milegae
warranty

On the insurance and just for the record the bmw 335i is significantly much cheaper to insure than a Evo.

Secondly the gas mileage on the 135i/335i is vastly more eficient than on the Evo

Last but not least, the BMW are fully covered under a 4 year warranty, they cover everything except tires(blets, rotors, pads, freon, fluids, shyntetic oil).

I think you are the only one qualified to make the decision on what car to get for yourself. Plus, you are asking about a car that isn't even on the lot yet, Evo X. Save this thread and your decision making for when the car is available.

might as well get 335i since the invoice for it is around $37.5. Once the new M3 comes out, should be much easier to get it for invoice .

I did a quick search. A 130 weighs 3025lbs, a 330 weighs 3460. So roughly 400 lbs lighter.

IMO the 135i looks odd....not to say the X don't either.......but The X looks unique to me, just like all other Evos before it.............I say X all the way just for the fact that it's a 4 door and more practical for everyday life, at least a 4 door is more practical for me.......if your really into a coupe though think about a 07 base (notice I said base NOT Z-06) vette......they were trying to give my friend a deal for 40 G's .........

so basically the 335i or 335xi is a larger, more optioned, 2 door, 3 series... the 135i is a rwd 2 door 1 series with the 335 motor... of course the 135 is gonna be 5-8k cheaper..
