Dsm Whizzes

test drove a 93 tsi auto, 161k. no rust, what should i look for? engine sounds good, started right up, no hesatation, ALL STOCK! need a winter car to keep the mile off the evo.....HELP ME PLEASE ANY INPUT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL TO ME

Check for any leaks, check shaft play on the turbo, beyond that it's just as reliable as any other import. If you buy it you might want to open the ECU to make sure the capacitors are in good shape, if they're leaking a bit you can get it fixed for a pretty decent price.

take the timing cover off and inspect the belt. It should have been changed atleast 2 times by now. Ask about it.

The belt can be a pain, but it's not rocket science. Just be sure it was well maintained. Pay cheap.

Timing belt job is cake. It the same as on a evo if your familiar with that. If not its about a 2hr job for a first timer.
