Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
#18
This is almost a near certainty for me. I've had my ix for 14 months and it's about the most fun car i've owned at any price. I'm only waiting to see what the new gt-r will be like and them i'll know for sure whether or not i'll be getting a x.

Theres to many things about the X that Im not crazy about so far. But we'll just have to wait and see how things turn out with it first. My VIII is to the point performance wise that the X would have to be insane to sell mine. If anything Id be getting a Skyline GTR in a few years.

i can't wait for all the 9 vs 10 threads.....they are never going to end................
i will never trade my 8. but for a daily driver. i will definately consider the 10.
If i get it with the paddle shifters it will keep me from modifying it....so hopefully it'll be a good daily driver.

Doubt I'll be buying one anytime soon, but I'll definitely be test-driving one.
My 05 TB GSR still has three years left of payments.
If it drives as nice as the VIII, paddle shifter doesn't think its smarter than me, and it has gobs of power, I MIGHT consider a trade.

I love the evo, ive had an Evo VIII and now a IX MR. But i do not believe i will be getting the X, i love the way it looks, i think its a crazy looking car, but thats about it. I'll probbly be in another M3 or S4 once those new models come out.

At this point no. All X's are scheduled to be equipped with an automatic transmission (well, its actually a manual transmission with electronic clutch). To me, this takes away from the pure driving experience the VIII & IX's offered. I can garauntee that the VB11 (I think thats what they called it at the detroit show) engine in the X (shared also with the new lancer) will not be able to handle high boost like the 4G63. The Evo X will be the only non Japanese Evo. Chrysler took part in its development. Trust me, it will be a piece of crap. It may feature S-AWC ( SAYC + ACD )and all sorts of other electronic drivetrain wizardry, but with the help of the Americans I'm sure its going to be very flawed. Then again, alot could change since only the prototype has been revealed.
