Talking I'm not the best driver, but these are not bad times!

I finally took my new ride to the drag strip in Commerce GA. The best I ever did my modified EVO VIII (cams, HKS intake, turbo back exhaust, AEM EMS, FMIC and even a racing clutch was 13.00 at 106 mph... When the EVO was stock it ran in the mid 14's under 90 mph. And even after my first mods of MBC and a "road" tune by the famous Al, the car was not able to get out of the 14's.

I'm still having problems with my launch and I can't get much traction, but these time slips are very interesting... Mine is car #SL 859

Not bad, you need to work on those 60' times though, but you're aware of that. Those traps can see better times for sure. Isn't a C6 a mid 12 second car in stock form? Or is that just the claim from corvette?

P.S. I love the C6's. One day I will own one

The trap speeds definitely indicate faster ETs.... However, it ain't easy to better those 60' without a lot more practice and really, a pair of slicks. If I could hook off the line, I'd prolly be seeing high to mid 12's all day long. You can see that I trapped 111 mph on one of my runs and 110 on another. That would indicate quite enough power & TQ to run ET's in the 12's.

Unfortunately for me, I just don't have enough skill to get those lauches just right. There are lot's of C6s running 12's in stock form. With bolt ons and more engine mods they run 11's. They are definitely fast cars. If they had AWD, they'd run low 12's even with mediocre driving.

Congrats on the purchase as I also just picked up a C6 Z51 about 3 weeks ago. a fun car to drive
RWD is a whole different animal to launch, but I dont think you need slicks to get into the 12's. I think with some practice 1.7-1.9's are doable on street tires.
I saw your caption at the bottom says 436hp. so I take it you have an underrated LS3 in it then. Supposed to be much more powerful than the LS2 (approx 400whp vs 335-345rwhp)

Somethings up with your car. It looks like it makes 300whp.
Did you get it dyno tuned?

Besides driver, I'd suspect that the uber muggy hot Georgia climate is taking off quite a bit of time, too.

It's the track, commerce is a very poorly prepped track. you should go to silver dollar you'll probably get better times.
