What car should I get?

I am looking at a "new" used car and am thinking about a S2K, RX-8, RX-7, 350z or a similar car. I live in Canada or I would just get an VIII and we have a tough time getting it across the border. Anyone have a preference?

EVO. You will love the all-wheel drive. BTW, what is an RX-9??????????

If not an evo than I would say S2K...so much fun and handles amazing. RX-7s have maintenance issues and Z's are too common (at least in the states)

What he said is very true, but where you live, I think an all-wheel drive would be way better for your needs. You will be happy through your first winter with the car.

kpSTi Makes a great point. Seeing as you live in a climate that has lots of rain and snow AWD is the best way to go. I know three people who have wrecked S2Ks in the rain. They can get goofy in wet conditions even with the low torque.

I see that you do not have Subi as an alternative. They are sweet cars with great performance, are they not available in Canada like the early evos?

Sorry to say this but you dont need any of these cars if you cant decide on your own. Im not trying to be a jerk but deep down you really know which car you really want and that is what you should get cause if you settle for second best you willnever be totaly happy. And thats just my advice to anyone who ask "what car should I get?" But any ways good luck with whatever car you pick.

^ that makes no sense. r u telling me if you had all the money in the world you could just pick one car. i think he is asking the question because he likes all of the cars not because he doesnt know them or doesnt know which one he wants. i bet he would get them all if he could but he just wants opinions about the cars not about his choices. now i do agree that the choice is yours and no matter what anyone says the decision is going to be yours.

rx-7- hard to work with but will turn heads(i use to own one)
rx-8- i wouldnt waste my personal time on
350z- common but strong platform
evo- we all know

He drives Evo X, he knows AWD is good for his conditions.

How about an S13/S14 get them resonably priced and build it up. I have an S13 as my second car, I love the differences between it and the Evo. Its hard to say which one is more fun, but obviously in the speed catagory it is no contest. My near stock S13 weighs in at 2800lbs though and has great potential to be fast. Also note that I drove my s13 for the past two winters in Detroit weather, with this past year having record snow falls. 40 miles round trip to work on all season tires, I do know how to drive the car fairly well, and I know how it reacts under most conditions, still scary at times, but do-able.

Others to consider

VW GTI - Cheap fun FWD
MR2-S Mid engine oversteer goodness
Subaru WRX - what more can I say
Supra - expensive
G35 - $16000 gets you skyline chassis with 350z engine and alot nicer interior
Audi A4 2.0T - Nice, quite, comfortable and Flash+intake=290 HP/TQ

My $.02

So people who read comparisons of different cars in magazines or on the internet shouldn't buy any of the cars they're choosing between?

Yeah, you're comment definitely made sense.

Since you already have the Evo, get the exact opposite and get a two seater convert... So either the 350 or the s2k... I prefer the s2k... but to each his own.

The reason I am having such a tough time is that my x is great and I drive these cars and compare them to the x and then it makes me think they are not that great.
