370 Z yielding great HP with basic bolt-ons

If you haven't jumped into the 370Z wagon now is time for you to dedicate some reading time for this car because it deserves some attention. A regular cat-back are yielding 18whp, an Air filter is yielding 18whp as well and up and that is without tune and retaining the cats.

The numbers are all over the forums but mainly at www.the370z.com. Comparing the HP gains against a turbo car is comparing apples to oranges so with that being said the 370Z is getting phenomenals dyno numbers with basic bolt ons.. what is your take on this guys?

http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...18hp-each.html

here is another 20whp plus with just air filters :

14whp on headers:

and here is some 19whp/18lb-tq on just HFC:

One word comes to my mind: Awesome!!

^^ I know but we haven't seen many NA cars making this crazy power in years. The known engines that makes similar powers are the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7 etc but they are 5.7l and up. I am absolutely impressed with the numbers this motor is putting considering is a N/A.

I am sure it will be a handicap to boost this engine due to its high compression ratio (I haven't read the Compression ratio yet) but that is my wild guess.

Not really...the 3.5HR are making 580+whp on stock block already and are reliable. Their are already a good amount of 500+whp HR's running around with no problems. The 370z should have the same potential being a very similiar engine.

and here is another 14whp by just adding race fuel. So, how many WHP total have we made with just simple silly mods? 80whp? 90whp? and we haven't event talk about tune yet...

this is an interesting thread comparing the 35HR with the 37HR enginewise, and speed.

Hmmm I wouldnt put it in the same category as an LS motors, even the lowest rated LS1 are making upwards of 310 RWHP and around 320 ftlbs stock. Not only that but I remember you jumping hard on the 335i bandwagon with the whole "this is the next 2jz" hype. Meanwhile my roomates 335i cant break out of the 12 second 1/4 mile no matter how many juice boxes, CAI, Exhausts, and drag radials we throw at it.

The computer can run more ignition advance without knock.

Which means the ones in California will most likely be slower and less powerful.
