Evo X or G8 GT
There was an article a while back with the G8 vs. the Evo MR, and that was before the MR's tranny was tuned, which now runs a 13.2 stock.
With trying to be as unbiased as possible... i'm trying to sell my X, BUT a RWD domestic can not be compared to it. You want something that can make power with little money? The Evo is it... you want something that is fun year round and really makes more sense as far as being practical, the X is it. The mileage isn't great, but a good tune will help you a lot with that, the interior and paint aren't the greatest, but it has come a long way.
Depending on what you are looking for, you might consider a new MR, or try to find a place with a 2010 model MR that you can get a better price on.

Maybe 2Steps can comment, but I've noticed on their forum and in real life, male G8 owners (and strangely I've seen 2 elderly women driving GTs!) seem to have a chip on their shoulder, be hyper aggressive out looking to show up other cars, and think their car is the best thing since sliced bread. Though I guess that can be said of most car enthusiasts (the last part).
sorry for bring back an old thread ,but i did trade in my evo x for 09 g8 gt and its been so much better dont get me wrong i loved the evo but the g8 i feel is so much better not just the value the g8 cost $26k and the evo cost me almost $40k , my evo had around 11k miles when i traded it in and i had already replaced 4 tires, front and rear brakes , and the clutch was going out already and i never really raced it , my g8 has around 30k miles on it and not one problem just front brakes are going to be replaced soon , and it makes great power i only have an intake, headers, exhaust, and tune and it puts down 365-375 whp, and has alot of room inside more then the evo, city mpg is like 14-15 ,highway i get around 25-28 mpg , the only thing i regret is not waiting and getting the gxp and the price on that one back in 09 was only like $36-38K, and like a month ago at a dealership my friend was looking at a car, just for kicks i checked how much they would give me for my g8 in trade in they offered me $23K i think its not bad knowing i payed $26K for it new

I am "fascinated" how people categorize the cylinder configuration as "pros" or "cons". So ..let me get this clear, a V8 engine falls under Pros but a 4 Cylinder falls under "Lows" . I just don't get it..
Then you said:
Evo =Lighter
G8=heavier
but you should finish the setence by saying = G8 120hp more than the Evo.

The G8 was a great car but it's not an Evo...After working on them numerous times and seeing what happens when people drive them at the track even just a couple times...and then comparing my Evo's performance and reliability to the G8's even after i topped 120K miles in my Evo...The G8 isn't even close
I see the OP mentioned snow, do not even consider a RWD car.
The G8 will most definitely be a comfier cruiser, but it fails in comparison the EVO in terms of motorsport capabilities.
