the reason i asked, is bc if your goal was 380-400, you could have done that by keeping the bmw motor and supercharging it. a lot less work than a total swap, and in all probability, less $ too.
but i guess this is just the start for you. and you will eventually want much more power...

Thanks Dion. I will own another IX someday! The question is, do you miss your IX?

Awesome built my friend. On a different note, I would have source a European spec double vanos 321HP engine.
A supercharger or turbokit from HORSE FREAKSPERFORMANCE would have been great or even a single turbo rear mounted from Squires turbo systems.
Good luck to you.

how does it drive? impressions, handling feel? any plans to track the car? keep us posted brotha!

Thanks guys! I am glad to finally have it on the road.
I have not personally weighed the motors. Other have, and according to them the LS1 weighs less than the S52, but the T56 weighs more than the BMW 5 speed. But you are adding weight to the lowest, most central part of the car helping, not hurting the weight distribution. Not to mention the weight of the LS1 further back than the S52.
This car weighed 3215 on a set of scales with a half tank of gas. I haven't done any weight reduction yet. I need some Evo IX Recaro seats!
I should get some numbers soon, after I sort out a few things.
Thanks. Here is the link to the video. Not too much action but just some quick footage. My wife always tells me "the sound just doesn't go with the car"

If you started with a shell (325i or M3), and did the headers and mounts yourself you could be around there. It is just hard finding a nice clean body. Also, low mileage LS1's are holding their value, as well as T56's. If you did a LS truck motor with an auto, you would really be saving some cash. I would love to do an LS2 (maybe SC'd) in an E39 with an auto.
