$0.00 Delete Rear Spoiler (GT only)

A close to $30k car, that runs only 13.9secs 1/4 miles?
Live axle rear suspension? Weighing around 3600lbs?

Geez, the Evo really IS the bang for the bucks car.

"Yeah sure, but I won't buy that ugly ricer" say them.

errr....isn't "ricer" = a car that "looks good" without real performance?

I love Mustang, too. Especially the good old Boss 302. I hope they gonna do the Cobra (with IRS) right.

the cobra is slated to have the IRS. umm...the mustang doesn't weigh in at 3600 pounds. Curb weight is slated to be 3425 (est). The Evo's weight is 3263, so the Mustang isn't too far off from that mark (even if 200 pounds is a lot, that's an extra passenger in the evo). The weight distro is much better than the evo too. 52/48 vs 60/40 (evo), so even with the live axle (which i have admitted to despising), the mustang still has a slight advantage there.

Also, the mustang still runs the 60 in 5.2 seconds (faster than the evo)

btw, not many cars under 30k can run the 1320 in under 14 seconds. Put a mustang on a diet, and that time will be much better. And if there's one thing that live axle is good for, it's drag racing, so a few minor changes to the final drive ratio, and the car can deliver some good times

I would like to know where you got all those package numbers since we're still a year off from the release of the car

5.2 better than Evo? I live at the sea level in California and I am constantly better than 5.0 .

Those are official numbers from Ford's press releases.

How is $25K anywhere "close to $30k"? It's only $30k if you add a ****load of options. The live axle is there because ford knows its market - drag/street racers. Live axles are great and are easy to repair or change if so desired. Not disputing the Evo's great bang for the buck, but the Mustang GT is still a pretty good price - especially if you like the 1320.

I've owned plenty of Fords, and I've sworn off some of their line, but an all new Mustang has me going pony crazy again.

same here. there's an '01 GT sitting in my driveway, and while my dad and i spit back and forth about who's car is better, we still know that both of our cars are fast.
