BRZ or FRS
I wasn't able to get a whole lot of time to check out the car. The car was already sold and the owner was on his way to pick it up. The dealer was nice enough to unlock the car and give us a minute to look at it and sit in it. From what I saw the seat was already sitting really low in the cabin. I can't imagine being able to get the seat much lower with new brackets and a racing seat. Most of the new scions have levers to lower and raise the seat but I did not see one on the FR-S. I may have missed it though.
The only thing TRD offers currently for the FRS is an engine air filter. A supercharger is also very unlikely to be released either. BTW, TRD also does not make a supercharger for the tC, unfortunately.
They are working on developing a TRD supercharger for the FRS, whether it will actually be released is uncertain.

So far what I've been reading in GRM and TopGear seem to point at the BRZ as the better option of the two. The BRZ is more expensive, but you get a lot more for your money. This doesn't have anything to do with performance however, just better quality workmanship in the Subaru.
I would imagine this has to do with the target market of the Scion cars being new drivers/Teens based on their price point.

Here is a funny story regarding the Scion dealership. While looking at the FR-S, the salesman proceeded to tell me that I should buy the BR-Z instead because it was turbo and had an additional 50hp. I gave him a WTF look and walked away. Do these salesman even know anything about cars?
