neither until i test drove them both. in my head im leaning to the FRS simply bc im not a big BRZ fan. both solid options and cool looking cars. aiint no evo tho!

hoping to test drive the FRS this weekend.

FRS is better looking in my opinion and cheaper, but supposedly the Subaru suspension is more aggressively tuned. I'd have to drive both before making my decision. The tuning and power output is identical on both. Here is a comparison of the M/T vs. A/T:

Above 5k RPM the M/T has the definite advantage

They look nice. I think I like the look of the BRZ more than the FRS. Although they are selling the BRZ almost as much as the WRX, I would probably go for that better than those 2

I can't imagine anyone who is in the market for a light, balanced RWD coupe turning it down in favor of a heavy, nose plowing AWD sedan (or hatch). I'm not saying the WRX is inferior in any way, but it's a completely different car. The fact that they are in the same price range is pretty irrelevant IMO because they have two completely different sets of skills. If you find yourself looking at both as options, you probably have no idea what you want in a car.

Personally I'd go with the BRZ simply because I'd want the HIDs and Nav. Saw the two cars side by side at an AutoX this weekend...the front of the BRZ definitely looks better IMO.

The suspension wouldn't be a determining factor for me (unless I was going to leave it stock) since I would probably upgrade at some point.

Those looking to use the back seats for anything more than a backpack or maybe some luggage...look elsewhere.

It's a tough call. I like the FR-S because of the Lava Orange color option but the base BRZ comes with HIDs and Nav. Pretty much a toss-up and which I were to buy would depend on what dealer had one for a fair price.

Neither Scion or Subaru are big on factory options. Scion has the option for an upgraded headunit but I don't think it includes nav. No other notable upgrades. Subaru only has two trim levels of the BRZ. The expensive one gets you leather, heated seats, fog lights, a spoiler, and keyless start.

I would wait until the BRZ STI comes out which should be next year

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru/...-ar127134.html

I had the opportunity to test drive the FRS and it's an amazingly balanced RWD car. Very nimble and I felt that the steering had better response than even the Evo X. Speed wise, it's a little slow and there's no doubt that the Evo will kill even the STI version of this car.

Bottom line: It looks nice and it's a fun car, but don't expect to be winning any races

Faster than the Evo at Willow Springs.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
I'd be more in for the STi when that comes out.
