My new ride. (Not Evo)
I had a run with a gtr (not sure what year it was), but i was on my evo8 @ 450whp, and we were neck and neck. Owner of the gtr said he had full exhaust and flashed with cobb. He was real suprised how he didnt pull, gave thumbs up, and we went our seperate ways.
For someone to say that you can build a 9 second gtr and not worry about it breaking... lol, you must know nothing about gtr's, or cars in general.

Maybe drag racing they will break some drivetrain parts, but what fast car won't.
Switzer Innovations just had an article on how a customers P800(9 second GT-R), lasted over 93k miles since the upgrade, and is still running strong. So reliable, that the manufactures offer full warrantys on them, yep, anything goes wrong with any part they upgraded, they fix it. They are designed to driven daily, that is what the R&D dept. had in mind when building them. Remember getting a GT-R to go 9's is like getting an Evo to runs in the 11s. It requires some bolt-ons, and larger turbos that spool like stock.
When you spend $80k upgrading a GT-R to 1000+WHP, they are very very reliable.
You guys are just used to trying to make Evo's run those times and having them break constantly.

As far as a 450WHP being neck and neck with a tuned GT-R, it is possible for sure, depending what speeds.
450WHP will get you low 11s@ high 120s on some tuners dyno's, which is right on par, trap speed wise of what a tuned/exhaust GT-R will run, especially if they are the older ones like the OP has.
I'm liking how the OP thinks he is the **** because he bought an older GT-R, and acts like it is unbeatable. There are so many cars out there that could make that thing look like a Civic, just so you know.

Lol are u smoking crack. Not sure if u actually know of any 9sec GTR owners but I know a few and their cars are down as much as any other highly modded car. My Evo can be dd but I'm guessing the fact I have 5 other cars doesn't really make since to drive it. Not getting in a pi55ing contest with none here but the fact that I have owned and modded more cars in 12years (33cars) I think I know a bit about cars. GTR is a sweet car no doubt but when it comes down to it, it's just a 80k+ Nissian lol that needs another 20k+ to do what an evo can do on a stock frame turbo, retune and a good drive.
i didnt say they wont break. they just are a hell of a lot more reliable then a 9 second street driven evo. 8 second GT-R ''granted cost 6x's the amount of a 8 second evo'' are even more reliable and consistent then a 8 second evo.
Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.
All of the kits are extremely reliable, especially the Switzer Innovations Ultimate Street Edition, 1000WHP on pump gas. Not to mention they also have a customer with a 9 second P800 GT-R, with over 95k miles on the build, using the stock engine to boot.
The AMS kits are also very reliable. They are built with the intentions of being daily driven. This isn't just some slapped together Evo build that runs 9's, these cars have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of R&D in them. I think AMS said they went through 7 engines alone just trying to build the perfect Alpha 12 package.
So I'm not sure where you are getting your information, but the GT-R is an easy 9 second car, and very reliable at that power, and can be as tame as it was from the factory.
Sure if you constantly drag race it then yeah, some drivetrain parts will break, but same with any car.
An 1000WHP street driven GT-R built by a reputable company(AMS, Switzer, etc) is as reliable as a 400WHP Evo.

Everyone thinks they can have a gtr and everyone wants one but will never bottom line so stop takling smack everyone! If you could you would. You PREFER an evo? Thats BS! It's only human to prefer something better, would you prefer to have a seiko or a rolex? Gap or Gucci? Yamaha or Ducatti? Please stop talking smack! You make no sense!

Who cares really? It's just preferences. Whatever makes you happy. They're just cars. They're not that important really. Track them, DD them, whatever. Use them what you intended it for. I do find it sad how people use them as a status symbol though. Losers

actually it is true! I replaced the evo after it was wrecked with my escalade hybrid purchased new then bought a new range rover sport hse luxury new as well for the wapce. wish I can buy another stock CT9A evo 9 MR and my car buying dilemma would stop. would I buy a gtr? probably not. I would prefer a turbo s or a used f430 coupe. do I wear gap-yes, express-yes(lol). wapce has chanel, gucci, rolex. I wear tag heuer, retro jordans(IX, X, XI, XII)
it is just a matter of preference
sell me your stock ggp evo 9 mr guys!
it is just a matter of preference
i remember back in 03 when the evo first hit the us, i was driving a 91 integra with a b16 and just graduated highschool. i said to myself one day i will get one of those. 2 years later i could afford one and when i got it ppl in town and at gas stations would act like you just rolled up sitting in a diablo. those were the days.
now a days evo's have become easier to afford and in 10 years the gtr will be the same. get off your high horse and buy a car because you know what it is not because other ppl know the price tag.

I never said GTR's were slow or unreliable my statement was modds were just to pricey for what u get. 80k for a 9 sec GTR after buying it for 60K on the low side=140K car. Lets look at hard numbers and facts:
E900 Package goes 9.8@144 according to their website
http://switzerperformanceinnovation.com/web_en/?p=624
VS.
STM Evo RS 9sec(9.36@152) that was for sale here for 35K
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...05-evo-rs.html
Once again I say leave the drugs alone. A well built Evo trumps a GTR aby day of the week and dont even try to pull the AMS GTR card cause that car is in the price range of Saudi Prince status. LOL Im not here to argue about the niceness of the GTR believe me I modding was a bit cheaper Id have one in my garage but I cant bring myself to buying one just to do bolt ons to it and bring it to the DSM shotout and get mercd all day by well built street EVos and GSX's. Not to mention the insurance USAA wants to fully cover one of those things.

Nice GT-R!
They sure are an incredible performance vehicle, and would be awesome as a daily!
For me, they are just too much car, square footage wise....and well, just too automatic.
You look at a GT-R, and yeah it has some sexy lines! Then, you are rolling down the road next to a more streamlined car such as a Vette or Viper, and you suddenly look like you are driving a cargo truck....they are just massive.

You are very naive, an Evo trumps a GT-R in performance, are you high?
A GT-R can runs 9s and 8s and still drive like stock, an Evo running in the 10s is hard to even daily drive.
GT-R> Evo in every aspect of performance. Except cost, which isn't a factor for the people buying the GT-R anyway.
Plus an Alpha 12 is not that expensive, the whole car is around $200k, look at what you're getting for $200k, a street car, that will dust 99% of cars around, that can be used as a daily driver, and is reliable.
When an Evo is running 8's, it is no longer a street car, no longer nice to drive on the streets, and not really considered reliable. It is a race car. That is the big difference between the two. Evo's make good drag cars, GT-R's don't, but still run insane times. A built GT-R will really shine in roll racing, events like Texas Invitational, 1/2 mile, etc.
Its pretty obvious you're one of those guys who thinks cheaper is better, so I'm not gonna argue with you anymore.
There are so many Evo fan boys on this website
