I am also looking for something similar to what you are looking at. I want something peppy but utilitarian...and decent gas mileage. I am keeping my Evo however. All roads have led me to the Subaru Forester XT. The XT has the same engine as the WRX (with turbo) but has great cargo capacity and pretty good gas mileage. It also gets really good reviews online. If you have researched it, take a look, you may be surprised.

I'd consider them, but the ones in my range have high miles.

exactly - the 2.5xt forester is, in my eyes, one of the best daily driver/sleeper options.

i personally decided to go with the base mini cooper though - deathly slow in straight line, but very good handling and 40+mpg on the highway

Good choice! Pics?
Any particular reasons for getting rid of the Vette?

Sold the Vette due to life. Have a wedding to pay for, want to buy a home, etc. I plan to buy another vette in the future.

here are some pics of the MS6. I've already done some bolt-ons & added the wheels you see.

Prius! Oh, wait, I didn't see the "fun to drive" part.

Tbh, if you're not worried about the utter lack of passenger / cargo space, the S2K isn't a bad choice for what you're looking for. It's fairy economical, fun, and still a fairly sport, respectable ride.
