Of course I am. I will have a Awd car again ( I've had my share of Subaru incl wrx (Sti swap) and the evo took my knowledge to another level as it was just that time in my life). Older and wiser that I am I will do it right this time.

That in mind I will be doing something obscene with it regardless . bcus racecar

I hope they do a 2 door version. Rear doors are notoriously heavy. The awd system will add weight and the current ST already weighs in at a husky 3223 lbs.

Never thought I would see the day where Ford released a new vehicle that Evo owners actually approve of or would consider buying. Did hell just freeze over???

They recently did already.... the Fiesta ST from what I'm hearing on this board is a nice little tossable toy, as one member put it "like Ford's little Evo".

Unlike the Focus ST the exhaust manifold isn't cast into the head either. Razorlabs thread has the details.

I too am looking forward to the RS. Can't wait.

Fords turbocharged Cosworth days from the 80's and early 90's in my opinion were far superior than any of the early evos, hell frooze over then when people started considering the Evos! Well here in the UK anyways

In 1988, after a Fiat-ized dealer ruined my Alfa GTV-6's mill, I decided I wanted a car I could get serviced in the US.

Living in snow country, I looked at the '88 WRC series to pick a car.
The Lancia Deltas were another Fiat company.
Mazda's 323s had a tendency to blow their head gaskets, and were only shipped to the US with the extra-cost electronic dash instead of the analog gauges I preferred.
In one rally, the M3 came over a jump, and both front wheels departed the vehicle in a nice symmetric pattern. Spoke well for consistent manufacturing, but not for ruggedness.
(BMW running the E30 M3 in WRC instead of their 325iX AWD left their AWD system not really proven.)
Mitsu had just gone from the Starion to the Gallant, so they weren't at the front.
I never much liked Audis.

So I went into the local Ford dealership to ask for a Sierra RS.

They'd never heard of it.

(They told me a Cierra was an Oldsmobile. )

Ford makes their best cars in Europe.

Ford has always had good designs.
But the Detroit factory is simply unable to produce reasonable quality.

(I wound up tracking down a limited edition Toyota Celica GT-Four ST-165 ("All Trac Turbo").
Ironically, most Toyota dealers in the US had never seen one of those, either.)

Very well put sir! I should have been more clear, I meant for North America. Ford has not offered anything in North America that I would consider an Evo replacement. Well until now apparently, curious to see how this gets played out. Especially with pricing.

Back around '99 or '00 there were rumors of an AWD Focus RS "real soon now".
It wound up being a Europe only FWD.

So new rumors of an AWD Focus RS in the US falls into the category of "I'll believe it when I see it".

Fiat has been talking about a return of Alfa to the US forever, too.
Instead, we got the Fiat "500L" -- a Big Car version of a Small Car.
(And made in Mexico, to boot.)

The first Alfa Romeo 4Cs have hit the US shores.

My guess for the next arrival would be the AR-badged Miata (unless they decide to Fiat it instead ).

this is currently the only car i would THINK about replacing my Evo for. that's saying a lot, for me. even still, i'd rather own both.
