We always talk about what's next and upgrading on here. But what if you went the other way?
In this imaginary scenario, you can't buy a used car. You have to buy a new car, and the max you could spend would be $29,000. If you spend less, you can use the remainder for upgrades. Feel free to detail those as well.
Ready, set, go!

It would be a Blue BRZ for me.
The current manufacturer incentive on these is crazy! You can get a base (which means HIDs on the Subie) right now for $23k.
I've had a lot of recent seat time its twin, the FR-S. I actually like the way the body panels on that car flow much better, but with Scion's no haggle pricing and the inability to get HID headlights, the BRZ edges it out in bang for the buck to me.
Dynamically, there isn't a car anywhere near this price range that is as much of a driver's car as these 86s.
There's a couple of glaring issues with this car. One is easily fixed: The factory Michelin Primacy tires suck. They contribute to the playful nature of the car since the power is low, but have horrible grip, and are worthless in the rain.
On a low budget setup, this car even upgraded to a midrange summer tire like Pilot Super Sports in stock size would be fantastic.
Wider wheels with max summer 255/35/18 tires all around, and decent coilovers would make this one fun daily driver.
If you're a deal shopper and can turn wrenches, a bolt on supercharger kit would address the other issue this car has: Tepid stock power.

Probably an Ecoboost mustang with the performance pack.Would have a couple grand leftover for some bolton horsepower, and basic suspension parts. The included 255/40r19 tires would likely be plenty of tire.

Took me way off guard because this dealer isn't one to give good deals, and that price was still good with their BS $995 tint and door protection package included. Darrell Waltrip Subaru in Franklin, TN.

Maybe it's a crash regulation on some cars, maybe it's a cost saving measure, who knows, but it's very widespread.
BRZ, FRS, Golf, S3, Cayman, Fiesta, 911, etc
