I will make you a deal Amby. Do not reply to any of my posts, and I will do the same for yours. Clearly our personalities clash.

Simply do not reply to accept.

The CTR is significant in the same way the WRX and the Evo was way back... Foreign makers may be tempted to bring their A game over. If not for the number of sales but for the press.

do we know if the CTR is direct injected? I know that is a barrier to modding for the Focus because of the fuel pressure requirements.

it was maybe like back in 2009... its not an issue anymore. There are a bunch of 600+ hp ecoboost mustangs running around out there... I mean its more expensive, but its not a barrier

The CTR is indeed DI. As is the CSI.

It is still a barrier in the Ecoboost fords. You have to run secondary injectors with a rail and a weird piggyback that tunes all weird.

VW (And MazdaSpeed3/6) got away with it better because the cam driven HPFP was upgradeable.

It even limits my stock tiny **** turbo FiST. I can't run straight E85 without fuel pressure drop.

I Tell everyone if I bought any of the new cars out right now I would leave them stock. They always give me a hard time saying there's no way I would do that. The posts above are just one of the many reasons LOL

if I wanted another car to modify or race, I would get something older. I like the new cars because they perform well as-is and I don't have to touch a thing. Plus warranty.

Same.

Old cars are so much simplier. By old I mean 90s to 2000s.

I've found 2006 to pretty much be my limit for most makes.

I don't think you're 20 years too old. I just think you don't like ugly.

I mean, people complained that the Evo 8 wasn't a pretty looking car. But holy moley, the CTR is the Evo's horrific looking parapalegic cousin.

The Evo X has aged pretty well. I think cars, over time, have moved towards the Evo X look.

I've seen dealers absolutely deny drivetrain warranties on 100% stock cars and claim any number of BS claims, its kind of seems you haven't been around various platforms and their car communities over the years, this is nothing new, owners almost always bite the bullet and replace/rebuild due to needing a running vehicle, I've also seen and they must be real hard up but folks trade it in and roll over the difference if the bank will allow the finance, usually more wiggle on a new car VS used that way.

Should have been more specific.

I meant the Evo 8. People said it wasn't pretty. I agree, although I think it had/has an aggressive look. I always liked the look of the X

But the CTR is a friggin design dumperster fire
