I drive in the city and get horrible MPG. I averaged about 17 in the Evo. 25 in this so far. On a highway journey, I averaged 31.

I couldn't find an R anywhere, and so I broke down and bought a GTI SE yesterday. Definitely lacking in the power department but, overall, it's a fun little car. The interior and amenities far surpass my Evo...

I tried to get my wife into one of these over the Evo X. She just doesn't like the hatch back.

more pics! interior, seats down, etc.

did they ever distinguish differences in the generations of haldex? or is it more or less the same thus far?

had someone who loves their ms6 recently drive my car at an autox. they were stunned at the rotation both on and off throttle.

Great choice. If I were going to only own one car and didn't do track days, a Golf R would probably be what I'd pick. Great build quality, comfortable, and it has some pep. I could still go play at the local AX or do a track day for fun. No need to go all race car; just enjoy it.
Good stuff.
I drove my friend's '16 GTI and really, really like it. I can imagine how much more fun the R is. He's thinking about trading up.
