Bought a 2004 S2000 tonight

Well, I was bored tonight so I figured I'd go take a look at the new S2K since I miss my old one so much. Hmmm, some nice lease numbers later (good credit rules) and I'll be picking my new baby up in the morning (I have to get a friend to drop me at the dealership since I couldn't drive my Evo and the S2K at the same time... ).

I am really happy - I missed that S2000 and I didn't have to get rid of the Evo to get it! The only other car I really considered was the G35 coupe, but I see so many around here, that it would suck to be one of the many. Plus, a convertible will be a lot more fun since the weather's good all the time.

I'll post pics soon (I don't have the car until tomorrow). It's Silverstone/Black/Black top. Silverstone is like a dark silver metallic - kinda gray.

congrats on the new s2k. i wish my wife would let me get two sports cars. i had to get rid of the 350 before i was allowed to get my evo. oh well, i was beginning to hate that car. but again, enjoy the cars. i know i would...if i were allowed.

this guy who lives next to me got interested on my new 97 240sx. if he gets it then i'd get myself either a 350Z or an S2000 (if money is enough) or RSX or celica (backup just incase i dont get the z)

I know about that - I looped my '01 S2K a couple of times. Supposedly this new one is a lot less prone to dive into the weeds. I won't be driving it that hard - that's what the Evo is for.

Congrats!

Ah - San Diego!

Must be nice to have a rag-top for a second car - Looking for a beater for the Winter (SALT and all of the other fun stuff ).

Az3ar - gotta be lovin that 3071! Wait till you have cams, high-flow cat etc.... Especially after seeing what the BR500 put down at Pruven.

the new ones dont tail slide(they softened up the rear stiffer ont eh front, 17inch wheels now, wider than before too)...my friend(5'1, chicK) just got a berlina black 04, s2k is like one of my fave cars ever....GREAT GREAT choice, i would have gotten the red interior though, but u have to order them and it takes a long time to get a hold of one

the older s2k's were better imho...i had an '01 myself. for '04, they've softened the suspension and reduced redline and oversteer (the fun parts.)

it's too bad they dumbed it down a bit but it's still a cool car. and since you have an evo, the s2k can be a nice summer cruiser, rather than a *****-out sports car.

S2k is a nice car. Let us know how much faster it is. I personally would of bought a lotus elise for my convertible.

It feels really slow compared to my Evo, but that wasn't the point. I know most people and most mags think of the S2K as kind of hardcore, but it drives like a Civic compared to the Evo. I just wanted it for a change of pace sometimes.

As for the Elise, the base Elise is $40K + options + dealer mark-up. If I had $50K to spend, I probably would have bought an FX45 with tow package.
