If you dont modify it tastfully you'll be labled as the typical ricer.

Drove a '98 GS-R for 1.5 years before getting my Evo. It's a slick little car. But I must say... after driving and Evo, even when the Evo was stock... the Integra is slow.

I drove it home in some bad snow storms and never had any problems. Just get a good set of snows.

My car had 105,000 on it when I bought it for 8k. In great condition. Still running strong and over 175k on it now.

It's a great car. You'll enjoy it!

used to own a 2000 integra gsr here.

con's -

-fwd handling.

-acceleration was weak. i mean the vtec cross over just makes the engine scream while the acceleration doesn't get any better.

-ride quality was absolute crap. i had eibach springs and dropped 1.5'' all around with 16'' rims. but i've driven my friend's stock gsr, and both ride qualities are crap. you will get owned if you drive a lot on bumpy roads, or if u drive on the highway a lot.

-it gets stolen a lot. the faster teg u want, the more stolen they are.

pro's

-very good storage space with the hatchback. mpg was pretty good, though if u vtec a lot it will be around 25-26 mpg instead of the usual 28-30 mph (these are mixed driving). also the gsr and type r both require premium gas.

not many pro's. that's why i sold mine and got a rwd turbo car :)

Why not get a MR2?

+1 :D for just under 10k u can get a pretty sick one.

though i think practicality is probably one of his concerns and though the mkII mr2s get a trunk, it's still nothing compared to a teg, which has a hatch back and back seats.

My brother has a 98 LS w/ 80k. He got it for under 10k with aftermarket warranty for 50k additional miles. He has an Edelbrock IM and Holley headers w/ sri. Sounds mean ass hell, but since it's still not a GSR, it's not too fast...

mikejam1688 Apr 6, 2006 10:07 AM

well yeah...budget and insurance costs r a big problems. i stuggling affording the insurance on my galant. i gotta clean record so buying a new car mite not affect it too much. lol..i dont mean to change the subject, but wut bout tiburons. i kno a few peopl who have em n say they r great, the GT of course.

Why are u on a EVO site asking about Acuras? :confused: I'm sure there a zillion Honda sites where this ? could be answered! {thumbdwn}

I had an '88, bought new and put 130K miles on it; it was a great car, but you're asking guys that drive Evos and the repsponse is going to be less than favorable. They are good for what they are designed for, economical, fun to drive, little cars. It is extremely slow compared to an Evo, but I would buy another one to use as a DD.
