Sick car but man...some horrible looking welds on the manifolds for a car of that caliber...

MRadjahoe Mar 22, 2007 09:00 PM

Ill RACE IT!!! My only request is Street tires are only @ this race.

alan678 Mar 22, 2007 09:02 PM

Hot dang!!!

So how long is this thing supposed to stay together?

I haven't heard of any turbo E46 M3's that lasted, and that cars been out much longer than this.

For $350,000 I would never, ever buy it. I would have more faith in AMS. Give them a new M5 and $160,000 and they could make something better than that.

NO WAY there's anywhere near $160,000 worth of work in that car, even with all the gator.

Cool idea, but no way.

Plus, I'd hate worrying everytime I went over a speed bump or something, I wouldn't trust that those turbos arent gonna get ripped off of there.

3 things:

1) the car looks hot
2) that is the worst safety wire job I have seen in my life
3) The difficulty of putting that turbo is a kindengarden task

There is a company called STS turbos ( http://www.ststurbo.com/) that specializes on fitting rear remote mounted turbos on just about any car. I am biting money that that specific turbo is running very few lbs which would not be too difficult to get it working on such configuration.

Here is a universal turbo system configuration: http://www.ststurbo.com/universal_system

Last but not least, if you are going to do a safety wire job, make sure you do a twist safety wire job at least so that it auto adjust in tension. There is a special twisting pliers that we use in aviation. The turbo would It would have been much better without it(safety wire), the one installed is doing nothing..

By the way, I wish I had that car:D

One more observation. Look at picture number 5. Observe the rod from the boost solenoid, the flapper seems to be opening in front of a wall, it does not have an exiting route/pipe.

By looking at the picture, it looks like the flappoer just releases the flow into a chamber connected to the turbine/minidownpipe/tailpipes .

Are you guys following me?LOL, some of you might be thinking of me: what a hater!!

That car makes no sense. Where are the damn televisions in the headrests with all that other crap they have done to the car.

stealthdrive_17 Mar 22, 2007 09:47 PM

Number figures sounds nice tho :) Gotta luv the sound of the M5 V10

DickMorgan Mar 22, 2007 10:03 PM

omg that car is sick.......but i wouldn't spend 350 grand for it

MRadjahoe Mar 22, 2007 10:04 PM

Def not worth 100 grand to me.

NY Evolutionary Mar 22, 2007 10:06 PM

Hate the wheels!

ApexVIII Mar 22, 2007 10:11 PM

i am going to start off saying that its a nice car and i am sure its really fast...

ok now

350K is a lot for that little work....

the welds are horrible, i would assume the turbo lag would be pretty bad bing all of that inter cooler piping and then a large FMIC

i do not like how the intercooler pipe connects to the 2nd turbo and its a straight up T no nice bend.

im think this car was built to say "I have a TT V10" thats it the turbo routing does not look very well thought out. like half are T bolts the other half are just hose clamps

DarksideEng Mar 22, 2007 10:12 PM

That car is a hackjob, look at the damn duct tape on the oil pump under the car. Ill give em 50k for it

dustin03 Mar 22, 2007 10:21 PM

but ugly welds I could do a better job with my eyes close and by the way I don't even weld
