English Racing's other hobbies
Drag Racing is a big part of what we do here. Lucas' has a 10 second stock turbo car, I have an easy mid 11 car when I dont break it, our fabricator TJ has a stock ECU (albeit with Chrome Pro) CRX that runs consistent 10.0s at 145 on E75 (109+E98). Our other guys include Jake with a small 50 trim setup on E98 in his integra that traps 122 with no traction, and our newest tech Zach and his E70/meth 1G that runs 124 at 25psi on a BW S256.
Some of the other stuff we do includes trips to the sand (rails, quads, bikes, etc.) and good ole fashioned 'Wheeling. Rockcrawling and trail trips, building the trucks, breaking the trucks, rebuilding them is all part of the life here at English Racing. If you dont break it you arent trying, right? Here are some older vids of one our trips to Sand Lake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jru4iIXp_gg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_exbaQIbJNU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3g7X7zrK-4 There will be more in the near future but these are some of the teasers. aaron@englishracing.net |
what does this have to do with evos?
closed... |
This should be a good thread as there is much more that goes on at English Racing besides fast evos. The English crew did a toyota 4x4 build for me about a year ago, I try to get pics and info of that build up tonight.

94 Toyota SAS, 3.4v6 Swap, bobbed, flatbelly, etc build
So about two years ago my brother called me to tell me he wanted to sell his 94 Toyota 4x4 3.0v6, the motor was about toast and so I told him I would buy it. So I flew out to Montana from Oregon and drove the truck back. I had been on the road for about 13-14hrs when the truck died and after I pulled over, restarted the truck it was apparent I was about to spin a rod bearing. So I got about 5more miles and pulled into a gas station, called Lucas, he came out and flatbedded the truck back to the shop.
I ended up having English Racing do a 3.4v6 swap, in the process they did a complete custom exhaust including everything from the manifolds to the tips. They also put a loc-rite in the rear and fabbed up some nice Trail-Gear rock sliders and a ACT clutch. So I picked the truck up after all this wheeled it a few times, mostly drove it to school and around town. The 3.4 swap was awesome, truck had plenty of power and drove great on the freeway at 75ish while getting ~18mpg on 35" tires. After a few months I decided to get a Straight Axle Swap done to the truck so I called up English a few weeks ahead and got all the plans and everything talked out, TJ and Jake being big toyota truck fans had a ton of ideas. So I dropped the truck off and they did a trail-gear sas to the truck with custom spring mounts, fabbed up some nice shock mounts for the rear, installed a second toyota transfer case with a 4.7 gear in the rear case, and they also lifted up the drivetrain to where the truck was about .5inches from being completly flatbelly, put longfield axles in the front with a locker. I got the truck back this time and bought some 37" MTRs had them mounted and wheeled the truck prolly 3 more times before deciding the truck wasn't for me. So I put it up for sale and a friend in the NW ended up buying it so I still get to see wheeling pics of it and see how its doing every now and then. Damn thats alot of typing:lol: Heres some pics of the whole process: Heres the truck when I picked it up in Montana http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...uild/Tim_2.JPG http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...uild/Tim_3.JPG Here it is sitting up at ER in the process of the 3.4v6 swap http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...0Build/ER2.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...a8-24-06_2.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...a8-24-06_3.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...TacomaSwap.jpg Heres how it flexed on the ifs and some ifs wheeling pics http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ild/Flexin.jpg Why IFS sucks, well one reason http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...uild/mewtf.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...d/ERBobed1.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...20(Medium).jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...20(Medium).jpg Pics of the SAS and other fabbing process http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...frontdline.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ntbumpstop.jpg Flat pitman arm http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...flatpitman.jpg Dual t-cases http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/.../dualcases.jpg Steering box moved and beefed up http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...teeringBox.jpg On the 37" mtrs http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...MTRs%20007.jpg Lifted gas tank http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...tedGasTank.jpg Custom front spring hanger which moves the front axle forward 3inches http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ontHanger3.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ontHanger2.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...rontHanger.jpg Flatbelly http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/.../FlatBelly.jpg IFS cut off http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ild/ByeIFS.jpg Boxed motor mounts http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...BoxedMount.jpg Bed bobbed http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ild/BedBob.jpg Front axle hung http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ild/AxleOn.jpg Front axle with all TG bracing http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ild/85Axle.jpg Rear shock hoop and exhaust http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...d/rearhoop.jpg Wheeling and flex pics http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ld/flexin1.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ld/flexin3.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...ld/flexin2.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...Build/WA06.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...Build/WA75.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...d/McGowan4.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...2-06%20019.jpg http://uoregon.edu/~jpatter2/Images/...2-06%20020.jpg |

Some details on the turbo quad:
So its been awhile and we havent gotten to the raptor until this week, but TJ has been hitting it pretty hard so we can try to get to the sand this weekend on low boost. Here are the pix first: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120097.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120098.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120099.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120100.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120101.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120102.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120103.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...n/P5120104.jpg So still left are the oil feed lines (easy and will be here tomorrow) the fuel system needs lines ran and the FMU/FPR hooked up still as well as a second pump. That one is kind of cool its both in one small unit so it wont look all gay with a bunch of lines and extra hardware. We need to close off a few gaps here and there obviously and flange for the BOV. I was thinking the RFL off my car but we settled on a Ford Probe because of the size. Then lastly will be the exhaust but that is probably gonna be left straight piped for the time being. The initial plan is to run the stock injector and gasoline up to about 10-12psi (75-80whp in other kits) and then throw in the big injector and switch to E98 and run crazy. It will go on a dyno as well so we can get some definite power numbers and not just a bunch of guesses. We ended up going with a 1G sidemount since its bigger, then divided so the entry and exit are now on the same side for ease of plumbing. Its definitely getting there now The Midget might die...I will have to buy a longer swingarm and some armor now so when I biff at 100 it doesnt hurt quite as bad. |
You guys have so many cool projects! You still need to post alot more of them up

Little more action with some snow wheeling. We have to keep our self busy doing something in the winter.
Was an amazing day up in the snow. Trying to cross the 10+ deep snow drift that was a 45deg across the road was quite fun. Ended up having to wench my self back out of the situation. Some of our vid from the Jeep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVz3GFVLizI Some pics from the day. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/DSCN1519.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/DSCN1520.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_8631.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_8637.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_8647.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_8553.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_8563.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/DSCN1503.jpg |

I would have lost any amount bet that you could drive through all that Ski!!!!!!!!!!
Very Very nice guys! |
Here is the vid from our dynoing. Was only 1210WHP
So Friday we finaly got up to ETS with the Sand truck to see with the 2 42rs could do on a Carb, E85 and no intercooler. We were quite happy with the results Once they get a tighter converter in the truck the power should be even more. The amount of hp to pound of boost is crazy. It almost 40hp per pound. JR had Justin put in some bigger tie down spots and get bigger straps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQd_gkycZIU http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...PSandTruck.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...k/IMG_8649.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...k/IMG_8686.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...k/IMG_8653.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...k/IMG_8655.jpg |
