Let's talk wagons
So lately with the introduction of our first child to the family, I've been contemplating a new DD. After DD'ing the Evo for nearly 5 years at this point I'm longing something with luxury and something my wife can drive (auto) in case we need to switch vehicles for some reason. The problems are 1) I don't want to give up the evo because I would like to try and track it more in the future even though I know that's not necessarily going to be easy/feasible with the little one now. 2) I want to pay cash for my next vehicle 3) I've got to finish paying off the evol. At this point, a decision is likely a few years away but the itch of a new / different car to DD has me making this thread now.
Anyways currently considering (all used) for my future car: 2006+ a3 avant 2006+ a4 avant 2006+ a6 avant cts (cts-v) wagon (likely not the latter as I don't think it will drop into my price range by the time I'm ready to by) So I ask you knowledgable Evom members, do you have recommendations for other wagons or any real world experience with any of the ones I've mentioned? I like the a3 (for its dsg trans) at the same time am afraid of the repair bill for the trans if something goes wrong with it, but I don't think it's large enough for a baby and 2 80lb greyhounds I like the a4 because I think I'll be able to get one for the amount I want to pay, it's larger than the a3 and offers even more in the way of features/convenience The a6 will be in the top of my price range but I've absolutely fallen in love with the night blue pearl exterior / amaretto interior color combination http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false [IMG] [/IMG] I'm not so keen on the looks of the cts but could get used to them, I think this might be a choice if I feel it performs better than the others with it's significant bump in power over say the a3, and slight bump over the a4/a6. If the cts-v came into my price range well I wouldn't be able to say no to a 556hp wagon |
From those choices I would say a4 avant for the space especially since theres a child. You know the stroller and stuff.

It even has an auburn interior very similar to the amaretto on the Audi Thanks for the suggestion |
Ok do anyone that's actually driven any of the aforementioned wagons that could give their input because I'm obviously not goin to choose a car based on interior color haha

I had an a3 2.0t before my evo its not very roomy, its pretty fast but it will not fit your needs do to lack of space

e55 amg wagon if you can find one.
also, i had a dsg a3 and hated it. make sure you drive one for an extended period before determining whether you like it or not. i loved it at first and grew to hate it. also, it is Very Small. keep that in mind. one other suggestion: tdi jetta wagon. the apr flash tune is due out shortly and should make that car a lot of fun. |
