Found a couple AE86's...
 

Some guy in my area is selling off 2 85 Corolla GT-S (AE86). One of them is a hatchback while the other one is a coupe. How much do they typically cost?

He claims they're both original with good maintenance but he did not provide the mileage. I will prob pay him a visit this weekend....if I can get around town in the midst of the Superbowl frenzy... :rolleyes:

yea i found a really ****in amazing one in the chicago land area, very, very clean and guess what? it's turbo'd..i cant remember how many miles were on there but he was selling it for $8k..it may be a bit high but with the rarity and all he might just be able to sell it. if anyone's interested I can give you contact info..

Why would you want a POS 85 corola?

obviously you haven't watch Intial D. Just kidding dude, but in the Anime, the AE86 eats up everything going downhill, then it gets replaced with a race spec engine... 11,000rpm redline, all motor, wow thats sick.

obviously u're underestimating this car, a low power, lightweight, rwd car is nothing to laugh at. especially if it's an AE86

well, for an 85 gt-s, thats the best year for that car. the 86 doesnt have the lsd and i think its not as stiff.... check if he's got the lsd for the car. if he does, anything from 3-5k for it, but 4k is reasonable for that car, seeing as how rare and popular it is...my friend got his for 3k. nothing more than 5k though.

Anyhow, he's asking for $3-4K and has some other cars for sale as well (Celica all-trac, 3000GT VR4, BMW 2002 TI just to name a few)...I trying to see if I can go to his place just to check out all his cars... ;)

Both of them have LSD and that owner is a mechanic himself... ;)

i ran the 85 hatch through KBB and came up with 1000 bucks. This was using an Austin zip code (i can't remember houston's off hand). I also assumed it had a paltry 150,000 miles on it. Very low mileage for a nearly 20 year old car.

I thought 3-4K sounded high, IMO. I'd say 2500 would be my top end for it. I don't care if he's taken flawless care of the car, but to pay more than that for a 20 year old car would be nonsensical

I think the price a negotiable....anyhow, I'm not THAT interested in one...I just wanna see all his cars. LOL

I have a suggestion.....how about a warning. I've seen people warned for less. Take a look at some of his other posts. When he's not talking trash about EVERY car thats not an Evo, he's bashing peoples mods or making fun of members from other countries.

The guys just email me back and say that they have roughly 150K on them. But he does have a engine w/ 70K miles sitting in the garage...If I can get both for like $2.5K...me and my buddy might have a nice project going...
