Description:
I've done everything that I wanted to do with my Evo IX and it's time to move on to a new project.
I purchased it in May 2016 with 23k miles and have had an absolute blast with the car over my nearly three years of ownership. I've had a 91 Talon TSI AWD and a Galant VR4 so I really wanted the IX since it was the last evolution of the 4G63 engine. This has been my weekend car and has never been driven during the winter, only on nice days during the spring through fall.
I have kept it up to date with regular maintenance and can provide receipts:
September 2018:
Tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
March 2018:
Transmission, rear differential, transfer case fluid changed with factory fluids.
Timing belt and timing components including water pump replaced with OEM parts.
OEM drive belt.
June 2016:
Front rotors (Brembo blanks) and pads (Porterfield R4S).
The car currently has the following modifications:
OEM JDM rear bumper
FP 71HTA
FP intake pipe
GSC R2 cams
FIC 1200 injectors
Walbro 255
DC Sports downpipe w/ custom muffler added in test pipe.
Buschur Magnaflow exhaust
ETS 3" intercooler
AEM Wideband
Bilstein HD w/ Swift Spec R springs
I am very meticulous with my cars and really like subtle modifications that look stock. If you check out the pictures you'll see I added the MR gauge pack but replaced the voltmeter with a functional matching oil pressure gauge. Its details like that I love and hopefully shows how I've cared for the car.
I bought it pretty much stock and have modified it with the goal of keeping it a kickass street car. I have kept all stock parts I removed and they'll go with the car. This includes the stock exhaust, stock downpipe with catalytic converter, stock intake tube, stock airbox, stock cams, stock injectors w/ resistor box, stock Evo IX CHRA, stock rear bumper, stock trunk w/ wing.
Thank you for reading through this and for your interest in the car!
Glws! Looks very clean!

I wanted to keep the stock intake since I liked the stock appearance and the design of the sealed box with the duct pulling in ambient air from outside. Unfortunately I hit a point with the combination where it wouldn't make more power (around 350hp) so I swapped to an open element filter and this box for the best of both worlds.
I really appreciate the kind comments on the car and I'll update the post on Saturday if the sale falls through.
Credit to the seller for a clear, well thought out, descriptive ad. The mods chosen and all original parts speak volumes. I'm guessing he is not someone who sells the stock exhaust because he needs a few extra bucks
