Description:

2003 Tarmac Black Evo VIII

I've owned this car for a little over a year now and can't think of enough awesome things to say about it. It's been in my garage every day and night. I only drove it in nice weather. No rain or snow since I bought it. It's stock in all the right places, but has been tastefully built and made 410whp/350tq on 93 octane pump gas and 24psi of boost. The car could probably make over 500whp with current setup. I am the third owner. When I bought the car in August 2018, it had been sitting for some time and needed some attention and cleaning. I thoroughly cleaned it inside and out. Waxed it numerous times since buying it. I am mechanically inclined and have the proper tools and experience from being an Evo owner since 2004, also this car is the fifth Evo I've been in possession of. Since buying it, I replaced the alternator with a brand new one, installed brand new drilled and slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines, brake pads, spark plugs, fresh fluids all around, brand new Denso front O2 sensor, and other general items I could discuss with any serious buyers. The wheels are original Enkeis I had powdercoated silver like stock. It has brand new Dunlop Direzza 245/45/17 tires with less than 1,000 miles. The Brembo calipers were powdercoated red and rebuilt with new pistons and seals. Cosmetically, there is zero rust on the exterior. Looking at it, you'd almost think it rolled off the dealership lot much more recently than 2003. Performance-wise, this car seriously impresses. It has no mechanical issues that I haven't addressed. It starts, runs, drives, and produces just as it should. The a/c works, as well as all other features and electronics. The moonroof works as it should. No leaks of any kind. All original owner's manuals included. 2 original keys with remote key fobs included. No CEL codes. Timing belt was replaced at some point and is in excellent shape. Same goes for drive belt. I wish I had receipts for all the work done but I wasn't given them at the time of purchase from second owner. Sometimes the driver's door lock won't work with key fob. I've tried fixing it but couldn't figure it out. May just need new actuator. All three other doors work with key fob. If my budget permitted, I would keep this car forever, but unfortunately I have to part ways with it and give it a new home.

Currently 142,000 miles on odometer. Engine was built at some point unknown to me but has been proven and holds strong. Not freshly built

Modifications are as follows:

Engine/Drivetrain:

Stock ECU currently tuned on Tephra 94171715 SD rom (runs great, zero knock)

Stock block (not sure exactly of internals as I was never given build data)

HKS 272 cams (may have valves, springs, etc. previous owner was unsure and valve cover was never pulled)

Garrett GT3076r turbo

AMS turbo kit with open hood dump (no hole in hood vent, dumps before vent)

Tial external wastegate

Tial BOV

Fuel Injector Clinic 1100cc injectors w/resistor pack bypass

AMS 3" intercooler w/ short route piping

Mishimoto radiator

Buschur SD catback exhaust w/ test pipe

AEM 4" SD intake

OmniPower 4 bar map sensor

GM IAT

FuelLab FPR

Spoolin' Up COP kit

Hallman MBC set to 24psi currently (never increased while in my possession)

Odyssey PC680 slim battery mounted in AMS tray

Aftermarket clutch (brand unknown to me but holds VERY well)

Transmission, t-case, driveshaft, rear diff, and axles all appear stock and are in great condition. No slipping, grinding, or unusual behavior. Fresh Redline cocktail in transmission with less than 500 miles. Fresh Mitsu Diaqueen in transfer case and rear diff with less than 500 miles

No synchro problems whatsoever

Car shifts butter smooth

In-cabin:

All stock except for:

AEM UEGO AFR gauge with output wire in glovebox for logging

AEM Truboost digital boost controller currently only for monitoring boost.

Suspension:

Stock Evo IX Bilsteins w/GTWorx springs (very slight drop)

Exterior:

Evo VII tails

JDM amber side markers

Do-Luck style front lip (worn from previous owner but not terrible. easily replaced)

Carbon fiber hood OEM style w/ Redline Tuning quick raise pistons

Wheels and Braking:

Stock Evo VIII Enkeis freshly powdercoated silver (zero damage whatsoever)

Brand new Dunlop Direzza 245/45/17 max performance summer tires

Stock Brembos recently powdercoated and rebuilt w/ new seals and pistons

Stoptech drilled and slotted rotors

Stoptech SS braided brake lines

Stoptech EV pads

(all done less than 1000 miles ago. with fresh DOT3 brake fluid)

Cons:

Slight signs of hail on roof. Almost unnoticeable

Underbody has some rust. Not too crazy, but what you'd expect from a northeastern vehicle

Driver's door lock motor intermittent

Odometer has 142,000 miles on it, but the engine has less due to it being pulled and built at some point in it's life.

This car is ready for however you intend to use it. Want to use it as your daily driver? Go right ahead. Want to keep it in the garage and race it on the weekends? Absolutely. It needs nothing at all to be driven and enjoyed.

I also have a stock hood that is getting a fresh paint job at the moment. I bought it locally with the intention of replacing the carbon fiber hood.

Asking price is $19,750. Willing to negotiate. Open to all reasonable offers. No trades please, just looking to sell outright. Trying to pay down some home related bills. Cash or certified bank checks accepted. Clean NYS title and clean carfax. Zero accidents
