Can you provide to us the reason for such a drastic increase in pricing from $26K to your asking price of $38K?

oh yes there it is... this car is not CARB compliant according to the write up. Not saying it’s definite, but knowing the situation in Ca, It is possible that you could get reffed, and this car will not pass Ca ref inspection
Updated Original Post. Still available.
Lots of negative people here online and lots of real interested buyers that can't get the money together.
Some people talking about scams or something on here too in regards to Smog/Carb. This car has a CARB compliant intake and a CAT installed. It should have no problems passing SMOG. As the seller and being in california, the SMOG is on me. So i'm not sure why anyone would think its a scam. I am saying that the smog is included in sale if in CA...because that's how you're supposed to do it.

IMHO this is a nice car, people spend double the money on some 80s car.
I never understood, when someone does not want something or cannot afford or do not want to afford then why the hate? What is the end game?
Everything is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
I am so glad that I do not plan to sell my 36k mile 9MR, because for the price I would let it go for would create international tsunami of responses.
@aparsh3rs I pm you about financing.

I have a mostly stock RR IX MR. Not a perfect specimen and needs work/paint, but mostly stock. Needs TLC for sure. Drove it over 500 miles when I brought it home and it's just sat since. I think 90k on it. Would sell at this time for $25k firm. Just saying - for anyone looking specifically for one! PM me.
Not at all actually, fd3s and supras were also usdm cars and somehow their jdm counterparts went up. The ct9a is domestic to the UK and their average asking is about 10-15k higher than in the usa, same thing for Australia and pretty much all of Europe. The usa has a "don't know what they've got till there's none left" mentality. FYI the GTR is also technically a consumer based economy "sedan" that's been beefed up just like the evo 8/9, the interior is just as plastic and the body is just as metal.

All the ricers have left the imports behind in favor of Scat Packs.
the US has different priorities, is all. When you have showrooms (and soon to be on Craigslist ) full of high-hp American cars with V8s you can straight pipe, kids aren't gonna care as much about 4cyl Japanese sedans. The US has a "don't care what they got because there is faster stuff out there" mentality. All people in this country cares about is 1/4 times.

Also it's very funny to me that my for sale thread has somehow been turned into a discussion board.
I disagree with what you are saying. Without getting into it too deep, my simply explanation of disagreeing with you can be backed up by current prices of JDM cars. If kids and adults only wanted hellcats, JDM car prices wouldnt be as high as they are. Look at Supras, FDs, *ANY* GTR, NSX, etc. Prices through the roof.

My comment was in response to what you said about prices in the US being lower then other places in the world.
EXACTLY! Also how do you explain only back in 2011 when I was looking for an import it was between an evo 9 and an r33 gtr. My budget was 35-40k and these cars cost around the same at the time. Infact the gtr you could find for much cheaper around 25k. Today for the same cars moderately used the evo is around the same price (more for us in canada) but the gtr is around 60-100k+. This only happened when the United States joined the fun, approaching their 25 year rule having passed it for many other jdm cars. I feel bad for gtr owners that this happened to them and I fear the same inflation will occure with our cars. There is already signs of huge price increase on the horizon.
