Im a joiner by trade, nothing happening here in the bay its a small market here,ye it was the death whine ,it started of know and again but got worse within 2 days,i did have to have a little discussion with warrenty company they only willing to put a second hand part in,but i said to them what if it went again within a few months then they said would put another in,which to me it did not make sense but they pull the strings, they found a second hand part but as we would know we would not know how its been driven . Thats what i thought my problem was in the beginning i thought it was a wheel bearing but i was wrong.

That's gutting, I hope you do find a job soon. What industry are you in?

It would be a real ***** to have to sell with a new clutch and transfer case. A friend of mine has been fighting his warranty company to get his engine in his legacy replaced, over 3 months now. Your warranty company sounds like a pleasure to deal with.

I've been getting a bit of what I thought was drivetrain noise which got worse after a drive from Hamilton to matarangi (past coromandel town), about 180km. I'm hoping it is just a wheel bearing, I started a thread on it to try and get to the bottom of it. I'll be doing all the work I can myself which will keep costs down.

How did your transfer case go? Was it the death whine?

Hi Steve. I haven't had any issues since I got the car except for a front Oxygen Sensor (under $150, oxygensensors.com FTW). Sucks about your transfer case, you've had yours about the same amount of time as I've had mine, less than 2 years. Did you get a warranty with the car? If not are you planning a rebuild or replacement? I haven't looked at local prices but I'd imagine a rebuild would be in a similar price range to a second hand used unit for replacement.

My wagon has seen much action recently, I bought a 1985 AW11 Toyota MR2 for a daily driver/track hack combo. It saves me a stupid amount of money in gas (2.5K a year after expenses). I just got a reasonable list WOF repairs ($1.5k for a shop to do) which ended up only costing me $40 and a box of speights

So now my wagon is a bit of a garage queen getting polished fairly fequently, it gets let out most weekends.

hey mate, just got my car back from WRC. long winter! had a wobbly crank which wore a few bearings, ended up stripping the motor down, had it machined and crank balanced. race bearings, forged pistons, rods, ARP head studs and main bolts. new cambelt, tenisoner, water pump, rebuilt the clutch and machined the flywheel. lets say not much change left after $9k!! Hit the dyno yesterday at pulled 306kw at 22 psi. will wind it up to 28 psi probably after the summer once motor a bit more worn in and through in a Link G4, should see 340-350kw

haha pretty game. my target is not so much overall speed but how fast it gets there. Im aiming for devastation. Iiv just had some carbon cam and spark covers turn up today, should dress the engine bay up nicely, still have to install the new intercooler setup. Have fuel system on order as well. Will get WRC to with re.map or run a link and hope for around 4-450hp

you thinking bout getting WRC developments to remap the ecu? they remapped my subaru and will be installing my new hks fuel system in the next month or so. Iv just replaced the intake kit for a hks kit and have a new intercooler ready to go in as well. i think my old wheels would look good on your wagon . . http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Lis...member=3966166
