passing MD state emissions..

is putting my stock cat back on the only thing that needs fixing before passing emissions?my mods are listed in my sig below. i am also considering buying aftermarket cams, then reflash. will this violate emissions? or will i be ok? thanks in advance.

No sniffers for OBDII cars (our cars) in MD. They plug into you port under the steering wheel and that's that. You're fine. If you had AEM, you'd have issues...

:edit: You're fine if you're not throwing a CEL

no need to put anything stock back on if you dont have EMS or show any CEL's. Cams you should be fine too unless you have a crazy idle, even then most likely you'll pass.

My address still shows Worcester county so I don't have to deal with emissions. However I have known several people to pass with a test pipe because they don't even run a sniffer if you don't have a CEL.

If they hit you with the ole' mirror test you will definately need the stock catalytic converter back on there or a high flow unit. But your flash will tell the OBD tester everything is all good. You won't have any issues. Stock Downpipe? then don't even worry about it. And If you feel like driving to Cecil County I know there are never any lines for the testing station. By the way, whos the cook at Applebees in Bel Air? An 06' MR if I'm not mistaken.

I had 2 hi-flo cats and pulled the battery cable to reset the ECU before I went to the test. Plugged in the cord and I passed right away. I think my CEL came back on like 2 minutes after I left the place.

Didn't hurt that the guy working the emissions station drove a Mach 1 and was askin me about my mods. I had longtubes and catted h-pipe at the time, neither are usually emissions friendly. You should be fine, even without the stock catback, as long as you have the O2 sim.

If you are looking to pass emissions and do not mind driving down to the station that is located in Columbia near the Columbia Mall, pm me and I can give you some more details.

Wow you were able to pass with no cat??? I have the DC Sports catless downpipe and really don't feel like taking it off to pass emissions.

Was there a trick to passing without the cat?

If you don't have a check engine light on your dash (and you have a test pipe) there is a 99% chance you will pass.
