Talk Me Out Of It Guys

So here is the run down, I sold my 2003 Evo about 3 months ago. Got rid of it because the wife (soon to be ex-wife) told me she was going to come back home and we were going to work our **** out (granted she didn't make me sell it, I was just doing what I thought was right for the overal well being of the family, but then again she was the one sitting next to me when I traded it in and not a word from her mouth that she was going to screw me less then a month later ). Well she lied and now the divorce is almost final. Let's just say I am walking away from this marriage as if I never got married, she gets nothing and I get to keep my ***** so to speak, plus my daughter; so it all works out.

So anyway, I traded in the old EVO and got a Toyota Cellica, it was the only thing on the lot I didn't hate. How can you go from an EVO to anything else. So anyway, I hate this damn car, it's small. I'm not even complaining about the lack of power, this car is just small and I hate getting in and out of it. Not to mention it handles like a turd in the rain.

So here I am guys. I could easly go get rid of the Toyota and get myself back into an EVO. I love this car and don't want anything else, ever! Granted I am going to spend around $200 more a month in terms of payments. But this car makes me happy, not because I want others to look at me and my nice car, but because I just love driving it. I don't feel whole without it ........ jesus someone help me out.

Be a grown up and pay off some more bills first or say **** it and get whats going to make me happy. Do I wait out another year or go for it now. I don't want the Evo X, I want the nine or even an 8, I don't care.

God this is driving me crazy, why the hell did I get rid of my baby, I only had two more years left on the payments..... my original goal was to pay my 2003 EVO off and drive it into the ground and have no car payment for as long as the car lasted. I'm not the type of guy who needs to jump into a new car every 5 years.

You're a free man now, go get what you want. As long as you can afford it and take care of your daughter I don't see why you shouldn't splurge a little for yourself!

Trust me, get the Evo again and deal with the payment difference if you can afford it and still take care of your daughter. I was in a very similar situation, almost identical in fact and having something I truly enjoy without someone there to nag be about it has been one of the best parts of being single. Anyone i date now has to meet two requirements. Be totally cool with my daughter if I decide to introduce you and deal with the fact that I love cars, spend money on my car, and that will not change.

Your daughter will be happier with a father who is enjoying his life and not feeling sorry for himself. Good luck

getting divorced sucks enough why make things worse. Go get you baby back! My life would not be the same withoout my evo and i see your's wont be either. You need to bring some joy to you life and it seems the evo brings you it daily. Please make yourself whole, do not let that miserable ex wife bring you down even further!!

I was extremely close to selling my Evo last summer too. I didn't get screwed over and divorced, but it was a really rough year. I even told my Dad I was going to sell it expecting him to approve of my responsible decision, as he doesn't drive at all and is the least materialistic guy I know. Much to my surprise, he talked me out of it, and I am extremely grateful. In stead of cutting all the pleasure out of my life, I just busted my *** and finally now things have been looking up, I'm back on track, and SO GLAD I never got rid of it! As long as you can do what you need to to be a good father, get back into an Evo

wow that sucks.... at least you have your daughter and stuff...

Petition the courts for child support and alimony (sp)

That will cover the extra costs of the evo!!!!!

You obviously don't want to be talked out of anything if you're here asking about it. Get that evo back or get a newer one. don't let the MAPCE get you down
