first time at the track ever.

well friday night I went down to the 1/8th mile track down in Hertford, NC. it was the first time I have ever even been to a drag strip let alone drive. so I was rather impressed at what I ran. I was able to do 7 runs. My best run was a 8.628 sec. at 83.198mph. all I need to do is work on my launch and my times will be better.

now all I have done to the car for power is a tanabe concept g blue exhaust and downpipe, megan racing turbo manifold and turbo outlet/02 housing, and an AEM shortram intake.

nice man, yea that launch is crucial, my first time i ran a 13.7xx in the 1/4 mile with a crappy launch but by my third run i ran a 13.2xx at 97.xxx mph with a 1.8xx 60ft at the time i was stock on street tires and the car weighed in at 3,250 lbs on the scale without me in it.

Good to see some people out there actually driving there cars! LOL just keep going and with practice your times will come down. That launch is crucial. If you haven't upgraded your clutch yet, you will! LOL Spend the money once and get the Exedy HD twin disc. How much is it to run down there? How far is the drive?

head out to VIR for road track, it's a lot more fun driving at full speed for 15 minutes at a time instead of 15 seconds (or less) at a time.
